We're moving on to news from India. In a bid to accelerate technological and developmental
journey of Andhra Pradesh, all 23 IITs have pledged comprehensive technology transfer and
support. Now the important pan IIT Andhra Pradesh 2026 declaration was released in presence of
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada. And this is in line with Chief Minister Chandrababu
Naidu's vision of developing Andhra Pradesh as a global knowledge hub and to become India's
number one state in technology and development. And as part of the border plan, Andhra Pradesh
government is seeking cooperation of IIT professionals, industry giants and academia.
Now to understand the possible role of pan IIT in the journey of Andhra Pradesh,
beyond Siddharth MP spoke to the vice chairman of pan IIT alumni India. Let's listen in.
What is it that pan IIT, IIT and network of more than five lakh IITians, what are you doing to
contribute to Andhra Pradesh economy, Andhra Pradesh development? Yes, that's why I was
finding that, that this summit has been only a beginning, because it is not going to end here,
because right now this summit has been scheduled like that, that five panel discussion
that are addressing the specific like 10 pillars of Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, that is zero poverty,
then green Andhra Pradesh, Swachh Andhra Pradesh, skilling, deep tech, so this and there are three
roundtable discussions with IIT directors, with industry CXOs and startup and venture capitalists,
so that to bring investment, bring innovation, bring incubation to Andhra Pradesh, because
Andhra Pradesh is right now leading that, Andhra Pradesh is primarily an agritech state right now,
but then the vision of the honourable chief minister is so great, so huge, that he wants
to achieve a 20% growth rate, and he wants to make Amravati deep tech capital of India, and that's
why IITians are willing to do that, IITians are willing to bring investment into Andhra Pradesh,
IITians are willing to bring incubation and innovation into Andhra Pradesh, like establishment
of 10 industry chairs in Andhra Pradesh state universities with the help of IIT.
At the same event, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu also announced that the South
Indian state will soon start quantum computing operations. The chief minister added that quantum
computing operations would commence in Amravati from February next year in collaboration with IBM,
TCS and L&T. CM Naidu hailed the development as the evolution of Andhra Pradesh as a producer
and exporter of quantum hardware systems. Now on the sidelines of the pan IIT Andhra Pradesh summit,
Beyond Sprint's co-correspondent Siddharth MP spoke to the director of Amravati Quantum Valley.
As you have a quantum computer that is going live in a couple of months from now,
what is it like and tell us more about this project.
So, we launched this initiative of Amravati Quantum Valley to build the entire quantum
ecosystem at Amravati. So, the project started about a year back with IBM, TCS and L&T coming
together and starting this initiative. So, the idea is to bring the best quantum computer to
Amravati Quantum Valley and kick off the ecosystem development initiatives. Our honorable chief
minister has also set the goal to build quantum computers from Amravati subsequently and the
efforts have started and we have launched two characterization facilities in April
this year to mark the development of quantum hardware ecosystem here. So, as we speak we
have close to 20 startups that are working on hardware ecosystems, building components
for quantum computers. Today we are going to launch Qshiva which is another learning, testing
and characterization platform that goes into the university. So, which will help us to accelerate
the development of indigenous hardware.
