Well, ladies and gentlemen, we have an inbound space rock
for a very close call tomorrow morning, 21st of May.
We have a space rock, 2025 KF.
The JPL has just announced to us today
that it is over 50 feet in diameter
and will be making a very close call with Earth
tomorrow about 10.30 Central Time here in the U.S.
It's going to be 17.30 UTC time on the 21st.
So again, a big rock.
And not at a very large inclination,
as you can see here, but definitely a big rock.
Looks like it's come near Earth a few times in the past,
as we will see, and tomorrow
should be its big day.
Again, that was 2025 KF.
Let's take a look at some details and some close approach information.
All right, remember, this is a fairly large-sized rock.
It's not a planet killer,
but it could be dangerous for people around the vicinity if
it does happen to hit Earth.
We have one day of observations, as you can see over here.
It was first spotted on the 19th, as in yesterday,
the last observed today, and they've turned
the information over to us today at 623.
So, they're not giving us a ton of warning here,
but there's not much we can do about it anyway.
It was spotted by our automatic, which is our AI software.
No humans had a hand in this.
It has a condition code of 7, which I do not like.
9 being they don't know where the rock's headed and how big it is.
0 being they have exact certainty as far as the trajectory
and how large the rock is.
All right, let's take a look at some close approach data
of 2025 KF inbound, as you can see,
for the 21st tomorrow at 1726 UTC time.
So about 1030 tomorrow morning centrally here
in the U.S. And it looks like they have it
at .0007 astronomical units.
It's going to be much closer to Earth than it will be to our moon,
as you can see here
at 0.001 astronomical units.
Now, I can change this to miles for you guys,
but this is a fairly close call.
It's about one-third of the way to the moon.
The easiest way to look at it,
a little bit less than one-third of the way to the moon,
which is 220,000 miles, so about 70,000 miles from the core of Earth.
So, look up around 1030 Central tomorrow morning
and see if you see anything flying by.
Let's hope no one is injured by any of the debris,
and let's hope this rock doesn't have a friend,
as most of them tend to have friends.
Again, 2025 KF inbound for tomorrow morning.
Please share, subscribe, and always remember,
anything's possible in the Bizarro World.
Stay safe.
