This week's Thursday sit-down brought to you by Flood Law.
We had a chance to sit down with Jameer Gibbs.
Very close relationship with Jack Campbell.
They both came in the same year as first-round picks.
That was topic one.
He's a friend. He's the first person I met
when we both came in together.
Thank you.
When I first seen him, I was like...
Are these the size of all the linebackers?
I'm like, this dude's huge.
But, yeah, he's a great person, a great friend,
a great player, obviously.
Obviously.
Just sucks to see that happen to somebody as cool as he is.
I know when Coach says it's a difficult situation,
it's not going away, but the way you can honor him
is to play your best football.
What does that mean to you?
Yeah, that's what he would want us to do.
He doesn't want us to feel sorry for him.
He appreciates all the love and support we give him,
but his main focus is for us to
continue to play hard and win games for him until he's back.
Alright, let's talk about 16, because you're putting him to work.
The 30-yard run, okay, for the touchdown.
Did you know he was coming down the field like that?
No, I didn't see him.
No, I had no idea.
I seen him in the end zone celebrating,
and I thought to myself, I was like, how did he
get here so fast?
But I didn't see him.
But I just def'd him up, def'd everybody up.
Hey, that go-ahead drive.
And all you heard about in the week leading up was about their defense.
And look, they're really good.
But, Jai, you had runs of 17, 12, 10, 9, and 9 between you and Vaki.
When you're running like that, what's the feeling for an offense?
It felt great.
You know, offensive line did an amazing job creating space for us.
Most of it, we didn't have to do much.
It was just holes everywhere.
The rookie made some really good runs.
For me, it's nothing that...
I was surprised about, you know, seeing him run.
I've seen him work since he's been here.
I've always had confidence in him.
It's just opportunities he gets.
I said to Drew Petzing, I said, okay,
Tamir's one of the best players in the league.
He's standing next to you on the sideline in a critical drive,
and Bucky's out there getting handoffs.
That's a lot of trust in him.
How did it feel for you to see him have that kind of success?
That'd be pretty cool.
It was funny because as he started rolling,
it was like, John, you ready?
I was like, nah, leave it up there.
I want to see him keep going, because I knew he could.
I just want to see how it would play out.
So, uh...
And then there was a couple more runs.
I was like, all right, I got it now.
And then, yeah, that was that.
All right, I want to talk about the
Dolphins, but I want to ask you this.
It's the question I know you get all the time about you and J-Mo.
Who's faster?
But I got a different twist on it.
I got a different twist.
First of all, who is faster, you or J-Mo?
I don't know.
I think it just depends on distance, bro.
I don't know.
I think I could.
I think a 40 would be way closer than a 100.
I think a 100, he gots it.
So we're going you in the 40, him in the 100?
Yeah, we can do that.
That's a split.
But here's my question.
I got you guys out here, and I got a third block.
Who's the third guy on the team that would be in that race?
Yes.
Probably Dorsey.
Dorsey?
Yeah.
If you would have asked Brian Bryant, he would have said himself.
No.
He's not cracking top ten.
No.
Overall, you've won three in a row.
Just talk to me about the confidence this team is gaining.
Yeah, we just – it's not nothing we didn't think we could do.
It's just about us honing all the details and playing a complete game
and leaning on each other, playing complimentary football,
not starting off, you know, really slow,
and just maintaining that through the whole game.
