"How Can A PM Survive So Many Scandals?" | Pedro Sánchez Backlash As Spain Heads For Snap Election

Spain is heading to a snap general election on 29 November after Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez dissolved parliament and called an early vote. His Socialist Party faces a major challenge from the conservative People's Party (PP) and right-wing Vox, with opinion polls suggesting a possible change of government.

The election comes amid political scandals, growing pressure over immigration and housing, and renewed scrutiny of Spain's railway safety following two major train disasters. The opposition is seeking to end Sánchez's premiership, with a potential PP-Vox coalition emerging as a serious electoral prospect.
