BREAKING NEWS | Legal blow to Pedro Sánchez: Supreme Court halts injunction against the 'grandchildren law'

The Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court has dismissed the request for urgent interim measures filed by the Iustitia Europa party to immediately suspend the census of descendants of beneficiaries of the Democratic Memory Law. The court determined that the decision regarding the right to vote of those registered under Annex III requires hearing the arguments of the parties involved before ruling on the merits of the interim measure.

The plaintiff party argued that, since the legality of the census linked to naturalized citizens listed in Annex I had been challenged, the same criterion of provisional suspension should be extended to their children for the upcoming elections. In response to this request, the Third Chamber has agreed to process an ordinary precautionary measure, granting a period of three business days to receive the corresponding arguments, and authorizing all days of October and November to issue a final ruling before the election.
