A quick replica trench art give away. Two pocket 'Put and Take' games, one with coin dated 1944 and the other dated 1945 to commemorate WWII. If you want to win one of these very collectable items just write 'Trench Art' in the comments - one entry per person. I will post anywhere in the world, no problem. Check out the original trench art video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brPUZ85Rbbo Check out if Gary has any trench art for sale here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/earlsihtric/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= Please do not confuse these items with WWII souvenirs plundered from war graves by modern day grave robbers in Germany, Estonia, Latvia and other countries in Europe. They have been put together from items found by proper detectorists using traditional machinery and tools and are a real tribute to the millions of people who lost their lives in WWI and WWII. Thank for watching and appreciating the videos.
Good morning.
In this video, I'm going to give away two pieces of replica trench art.
This has been made for me by a great friend called Gary.
And if you want to check out the video I did about trench art,
just click the link in the video description.
There's also a link
to Gary's eBay selling page where he sells this stuff.
So on the subject of trench art...
Yeah.
These are some of the things you've been making out of?
Well I think you know when you're finding these pennies
and half pennies and things like that
and it's coming up to the centenary where it
is a centenary come August.
I started putting these trench art items together out of the coins.
So these are like a match striker.
There you go, that's the end for it.
So you put your matches in there,
they're made in the trench art style.
You strike it on the striking part of there
and I press out these bodies.
I make the old fashioned put and takes,
which was one of the favourite World War One games
played by soldiers,
because they weren't at the front every hour of the day, you know.
It's such an easy game to play as well isn't it,
you know, you could play it with coins
or you could play it with matches or anything, it's so simple.
It's a very addictive game.
And then, so it's what they call a pocket put and take,
and I put them together as keepsakes
The memento is for the, you know,
in the trench art style, just to remember these guys.
These have come from things I personally have found
in the UK on the sites that I hunt.
This was reading as a nice sprightly 76 on the Dios
and it looks like it's a button in
pretty good condition. Oh it is.
That's in cracking condition. Look at that.
AFS which I believe stands for auxiliary fire service.
So rather than just you know having these bits of bits
and pieces of things in your bag of shame.
You can bring them back to life
and make them into something useful, you know.
That's another pre-decimal penny.
To George V, in pretty good condition again.
I've made them from the period coins.
I have the various battles that was fought.
That's Arras, which was fought in 1914.
Which matches with the coin.
So we've got a 1944 penny,
a 1945 penny,
and two auxiliary fire service buttons.
They make up the bottom of them.
Take the top off and inside of here we've got a put and take game.
It's basically a very simple game, it's like a pub game sort of thing.
And the fellas in the First
and Second World War would play this exact game.
These put and takes would be made in exactly the same way in the First
and Second World War.
Basically you just spin it and you do whatever it says.
So you put two, take two, take all, all put.
You can play for matchsticks, coins,
you can play for whatever you want.
You could even make it a drinking game I suppose,
but I think if anybody got take all
and there was seven or eight shots on the bench,
that would kind of be the end of the game for them, lights out.
So there's two of these to give away.
Now as this video is purely just a giveaway video,
there's nothing else relating to metal detecting there,
all I'm going to ask you to do if you want to win one
of these two replica trench art pieces, which are awesome.
In the comments section of the video, just put Trench Art.
I'll let it run until the end of this month,
which is the end of May 2014.
I'll then bring up all the comments,
skip through them backwards and forwards, land on one at random.
That person will be the winner.
Once those people have won, I'll send them a private message.
I'll also put a reply to their particular comment,
their entry, asking them for their address,
and I'll post them out anywhere in the world.
I was quite lucky with the last few giveaways I did
because they were in the UK, but even
if you're in Australia or the US, it doesn't matter.
I'll post them out.
Don't want anything for postage,
please do not send any money for postage.
Don't want this confused with fake competitions
and people asking for donations for postage.
That's nonsense.
These are purely just a giveaway to people
who watch and appreciate my videos.
Thanks for watching.
So I'm just, you know, you bring these things that you find
in the fields back to life in some form or other.
The possibilities of what you can do is endless, isn't it?
I forgot to say as well, it's also a whistle, isn't it?
I mean, not very good, hang on, it's also a whistle.
We'll do that again.
Just keep doing it
for as long as it takes.
That's hellishly.
