Should your kid wear floaties? As a swim instructor, my answer is no. Here's why, and the one device I'd use instead.

What flotation device should my child use if they're not in lessons,
if they're out with the
family, in the pool, a lot of people are over, what should they do?
My best advice is no flotation
device at all, especially for children Rafi's age.
It's much better to be in the water with
the child, getting them to practice as much
as possible without something hindering their
They're learning now.
There are situations where a flotation device makes sense.
I wouldn't recommend them to a child
Rafi's age. Rafi is 19 months old.
For him it's going to be a lot of swimming on his own and
practicing with me or whatever adult
is in the water with him, my wife or
some other instructor that I trust. Bless you!
Now, if the child is a little bit older
and maybe they're a little fearful of the water
or they're just working on confidence and staying more horizontal,
then a flotation device like
the 3-2-1 Swim Pack can actually be very beneficial.
But it's really important that you actually teach
the child how to use this properly.
Now, the child will pick their head up
and they will go vertical at times,
but the idea of this device is to build confidence.
And as they get better and better, you can slowly remove the pieces.
There is no device out there that's as easy
as removing the pieces as this one.
This is the 3-2-1 Swim Pack by Kaizen Kids.
We'll have the link to it in the description.
It's great for children that need to build their confidence levels up,
that need to learn how to swim more horizontal.
As they get better, you remove the pieces,
and then you can switch them out,
making it easier and easier to build confidence in the swim.
Ready, buddy? Set.
Yeah.
One, two, and three.
Now children's Rafi's age.
Look at this.
They should be swimming, floating,
practicing everything with no device on.
My best advice is use your common sense.
Oh boy.
Get it out.
That's okay.
It happens.
My best advice is use your common sense
when it comes to working with your child in the water.
