Atlanta film scene alum stars in 'Model Citizen'

Steven, you are in an elevator, descending to the ground floor. More. What do you see? I'm running. Yeah, me too. You might have. Somebody killed me. A man fights to regain his memories and understand why everyone around him seems to be carrying a secret in the new action thriller, Model Citizen. This looks really good. The film stars Aaron Eckhart and Emmanuel Schrieke, and it's also available right now on digital platforms. Good Day's Paul Millican has a look behind the scenes. Okay, what do you need? What do you need? What do you need? Alcohol would be great and gauze. Okay. Emmanuel Shrieky, I am so happy to see you. How are you? Hi, Paul. I'm so good. How are you? I'm doing very well. And I just want you to know, before we talk about Model Citizen, you are always in my house at Halloween time because Wrong Turn is like my favorite movie ever. So thank you for always being there for me this time of year. I love that. That is music to my ears, and it's my pleasure. Good, good, good, good. Well, let's talk about the new movie. Congratulations on Model Citizen. So I got to start with this. You play Gretchen Lowe, who was introduced to us as the new veterinarian in town. Now, Emanuel Shrieky, did you actually have to work with cows on set? Were there live animals with you? And if so, what was that like? Paul, it was a trip. Yes, there was real live animals. I don't think I've ever been so close to a giant cow before, who is honestly so gentle and lovely. But it's daunting to be with such a huge animal. And the challenge was that I had to... Make it seem as though I do this all the time. Thank you for your time. And there was not a lot of time. Thank But, you know, hopefully we managed. You need to tell me what's going on. People that want to kill him coming now, okay? you This is a cool character for you. for You're playing... The character that we, the audience, are slowly revealed to, your but you're also playing a character that Aaron's character doesn't really know that much about. time. So for you as an actress, are you sort of plotting every scene in two different ways? Yes, that is so accurate. Because the way that I describe it, you know, when I first read the movie, it's just like, it's like a game within a game. So I just had to be always really clear about like, is this, is this, is this real or is this the experiment? Right. Just to differentiate that for myself to be really clear. And then, you know, it was, it was, it was, it was. It was challenging only in my prep, like once, once I understood, once I could track it, then I was really clear and it was wonderful to be on set with Aaron and, you know, we could build around it. But yeah, initially I was like, oof, I need to get clear about this. That's it, move in, move in, move in. Go, go, go, go, go, go. I want to say that we miss you here in Atlanta. You were filming The Passage way back once upon a time, and I got to visit you on set. Did you like being here for that project? I love Atlanta, and I'm not just saying that. I... I loved being there. I loved working there. I hope something else brings me back there. Yeah, you guys are awesome. I love you. All right. Well, we're going to manifest that. And when you get here, let me know. I've got restaurant recommendations for you. Yes! I've got you covered, okay? Amazing. Thanks, Paul. Great to see you. Congrats on another great performance. And I'm going to go home, watch Ron turn again, and I'll see you later. Thank you. Paul always has the good recommendations when it comes to restaurants. We do want to say thank you to Warner Bros. for production assistance with that interview. Model Citizen is available now and will be released on DVD on November 17th.
