Let's get back to that breaking news
in DeKalb County where a driver crashed into a school.
Yeah, good day. Photojournalist Austin Haygood joins us live
from the scene along La Vista Road.
Austin, I know the school's not right along La Vista Road.
It's a little bit set back off the road.
What in the world happened here?
Hey, yeah, good morning. Yeah,
we're here at Torah Day School again off of La Vista Road where we can
see a gray Jeep that has crashed into one
of the buildings here. This looks like it might be an
admin building and not necessarily a part
of the main focus of the school. When I arrived on scene,
medical personnel and fire crews were just arriving,
but they soon thereafter left the scene.
I was told off camera that there are no injuries related
to this incident, and it appears to not
have affected traffic on La Vista Road.
And you may be able to see there that personnel at the
They're redirecting parents for drop off
and parking and they put up police tape and kind
of roped off the area right now.
So it appears that everything is kind
of under control now as much as it can be and it has
limited effect on the school this morning.
Back to you guys.
On what happened or how this happened?
I'm not sure. Right when I got here, I mean, it was,
it had already happened. If I had to, you know, from what I saw,
I saw somebody going in and out of the vehicle and they were,
you know, looked like they were retrieving their things.
So I'm assuming that it's an accident, but we don't have really
any solid details just yet on it. What exactly happened?
Austin Haygood, live for us there near the Toco Hill area
of Torah Day School. Thank you, Austin.
