Bill, Alex, and Mike on the airwaves giving what you like.
Topics on fleek, 11 o'clock every day of the week.
Sweet on Fox Local Conversations.
Let's go.
The team is here.
Jumping in, talking about all of our various challenges.
About what's going on.
We got tea.
We got cough drops and everything else.
Mike's going through his LeBron routine.
Oh, man.
That's everything that's going on here.
All the things.
On BAM.
And it's just Friday Eve.
It's Friday Eve, though.
It's not just Friday Eve.
No, it's just Friday Eve.
It's Friday Eve, B.
Like, let's go, man.
One more day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're not selling it, Bill.
All that.
Yeah.
I, like all of us, it has been a lot lately.
So I think that love doing this and love
the interaction and what have you.
Not unhappy that the weekend is coming.
You know what I'm saying?
You're close, man.
The chance to just relax and chill.
Elections are over.
Like, you about to be free.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Freer.
Freer.
More free.
Yeah, man.
He's like, what is free?
Yeah, no, actually, it's an interesting discussion,
because I and we all enjoy all the things we're doing,
and you look up one day, and you're like, I got no voice,
and I'm sitting here trying to go through it, and you go,
you know, so it's like, but am I going to complain about,
what do they say, like, don't complain about the things
that you once hoped you would have, you know, so.
I never hoped that I didn't have a voice.
No, but I'm saying the reason why, like,
isn't it a blessing to be exhausted because
of the things that you wanted to have?
Yeah.
So I do recognize that we're fortunate, man.
Like we got good gigs, man.
You know what I mean?
It's work, but some people's work suck.
I was working that bad.
We just saw TV chilling.
It's true.
Well, we make it look like it.
I don't know about chilling.
Look, man.
He might be chilling over there, but some of us.
Come on, man.
Let's not front like it ain't that hard.
He doesn't wake up before the crack of dawn.
I used to.
I did it for a lot of years, man.
I was on the street.
It was cold.
It was wet.
It was dark.
It was crazy, people out there, like, you know what I'm saying?
They still out there.
So I used to be, when I worked in radio, I used to have that mindset.
Like, I would sit there hosting my radio show,
watching Good Day Philadelphia in the studio.
And I'm sitting there going.
Man, I got to get that gig.
All they got to do is just show up and talk for a couple hours.
All they got to do is just come in.
You just roll in the building.
And I had all these visions of what it was.
Like, you roll in the building.
You go to the makeup chair.
They hook you up in the makeup chair.
Then your people, you know, help you work everything out.
Oh, God, I had such a vision.
And then when I started working, first at Chasing News,
I was like, where's the makeup chair?
There's one here.
Where's the people?
There's just nobody in it.
Or managing it.
It's just your space.
I actually had a conversation with Mike a while back about
not recognizing how much work goes into making something look easy.
That's the list.
That's the work.
That's the part, though, man.
You have to make it look effortless.
We do it, though, man.
I mean, you know, we had real jobs, man.
Like, you know, I dug ditches as a younger guy, man.
Like, so doing TV is easy work.
It's all relative.
I'm like, okay, well, don't be making
it sound like we're not working now.
I'm not saying I'm not working, but like, you know.
I'm going through it over here.
I cut lawns, did all that kind of stuff.
I did electrical work, did the houses and all that stuff, man.
Like, yo, like.
So, respect to y'all who are out there grinding.
I appreciate you.
Yo, y'all working for real.
At the end of the day, I feel like a job is work,
no matter, you know, whether it's physical work,
emotional, intellectual, everybody, it's a job.
So, it's going to be some form of work that's for the tax we pay.
I don't like comparative politics because I feel like it's unfair.
But it is a blessing.
Find something you love.
That is.
Yes.
That is my, the word is showing up.
The message.
None of us want to show up.
All right, so we do have topics.
I got an interesting one today. So we've talked about
the Thread Talk podcast before.
A lot of these different places pop up, and so this one was on
theirs. They took a Reddit post,
and they were talking about it with their people, and I went,
huh. All right, so here's the post.
They were at a family event.
Apparently, there was a woman and her family.
And her brother, you can see this, her brother kept harassing her.
He was being really personal.
He was calling her names.
He called her a hoe, all these kind of things, at a family function.
And so her husband was there
and kind of pulled him to the side and was like...
Dude, I'm going to need you to stop disrespecting my wife.
Like, I understand that that's your sister,
but the stuff that you're doing is crossing the line.
Had the conversation privately.
They go back and publicly, you know, the brother then escalates it
and starts cursing at her, calls her a hoe again.
And I'm using hoe.
He was using more explicit words.
I'm using what we can say on TV, garden tools, doing that.
And so finally the husband has enough
and punches the brother in the face.
You might want to go to court in a man's.
This might be.
I'm telling the story and then we're going to get legal advice.
Punches the brother in the face, knocks him out.
The family is now mad at the husband.
Of course.
Talking about pushing them out of the family.
So what would you do?
This might be a legal discussion,
so we're going to pause for 15 seconds
so that you can figure out some legal advice,
and then we'll come back and talk about it.
In case you punch your brother in law.
Oh.
At Twirler Madness, we eat, sleep, and breathe personal injury.
Our clients are our family, and we protect our family.
People can rely on us as if they could rely on a family member.
We know exactly what to do.
That's why people call us.
What's that number?
844-50-FIGHT.
I think that's what it said on the screen.
You might call them and see if they want to get their numbers.
It's like, I'm callers.
What y'all think about this?
I know.
What's going on with all this?
All right.
So, look at them.
They're pulling up the number for us.
Oh, my gosh.
Y'all go ahead and chime in on the discussion.
Okay, gotcha.
What do you think?
I mean, he's standing up for his wife.
I get it.
But he's standing up for his wife against her family.
I know he crossed the line, Bill.
Really?
Yeah, he crossed the line.
He should not have punched her, brother.
Him and his wife should have just left.
OK. You know what I'm saying?
That's the way to play it. You don't do that, man.
Like I get where his anger came from.
And he tried to talk to him. Right.
So he did. So he tried to stop him.
And then the guy actually is disrespecting him. Right.
So it escalated. He tried to. I agree. And I get it.
Like he did everything right up into the point
of punching him in the face. Right.
Like at that point, it's like, yo, you were the family,
her mom's or pops or whoever else is in the room.
Like, you didn't know
these people before you started dating their daughter.
Married their daughter.
Or whatever.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you don't know her and her brother's,
or maybe you do know her and her brother's relationship.
It could have been volatile like this their whole lives.
Okay.
You know what I'm saying?
So you just jumped in the middle of something
that has now put a wedge between you and her family.
And her and her family.
So her family, and that's it, went on.
Her family was like, look, this guy can't be a part of our family.
So now the family is asking her to choose.
He's not welcome around us anymore.
And if you're still with him,
you're not welcome to come around anymore.
He could have just left.
I'd have just said, hey, babe, come on, we got to get out of here.
I'm not coming around your peoples.
I'm not dealing with this.
If you want to go visit your family without me, that's fine.
But I'm not going to be here at your mother's
house or at your brother's house
and stand around while they disrespect you.
You know, but that's your family.
I'm not going to pull you away from them either.
That's got to be your choice.
I feel like it's such a fine line.
So I agree with you that punching the brother in the mouth.
...was a step too far.
Now, and we don't know.
We only know the story that they told.
We do know that he tried to handle it.
He tried to.
And it almost sounds like he tried to handle it,
and then the brother was like, forget you and her.
And kind of escalated it to the next level.
He sounded like a hothead to his brother.
He's just a grown man.
You know?
So, yes.
So, I don't know that you can hit him.
But I...
It's so hard to figure out, because I also can imagine a situation,
not knowing how the family is going to react,
where a father is sitting there saying,
you're just going to let them disrespect my daughter like that?
It's your son.
I understand, but I could see where a father is going.
Wow. So you're just going to stand there and not.
Do anything while this is happening.
And I'm going to say, you're going to sit here
and let your son talk to your daughter like this.
Like, this didn't just start today.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Your son, you raised a house that you've allowed
this kind of behavior to go down.
That's why your son is so comfortable doing this right now.
Right.
And clearly they were okay with it
because they want the son-in-law going.
You put me in a bad position.
You know what I mean?
And so I'd just be like, look, man, I'm
not going around those people no more.
That sounds like the mature way to handle it.
What do you think?
This sounds like men and sibling stuff.
Stop that.
Stop that.
Drama.
Like, I ain't got no siblings, and I ain't talking about my man.
Yeah.
Well, because I know that men are, like, particular about,
you know, respect and, like, did you disrespect me?
You can't punk me in front of others and la-la-la-la.
Like, I hear that from my guy friends.
So I know that's a thing that, as a woman, I just don't understand.
I understand.
But I do find it interesting because I would have thought.
If he tried to approach and handle it in a civilized way,
and the guy kept escalating, kept escalating,
I am surprised that y'all are against him hitting him in the mouth.
And I don't know why.
I mean, I guess I feel like he tried, and the guy kept going.
Because at that point, because then I think of my guy friends,
and I'm like, well, I went to him, and I approached him,
and he escalated, and I can't have him just be talking to me crazy.
Right, to you or me.
Right, in front of others.
So then what do you do?
If you tried the other methods.
I guess you could just walk away and say...
Well, and that was Mike's illusion,
because I honestly was not that opposed.
And I'm not...
What I'm saying is I'm not against
him punching her in the mouth.
I'm recognizing whose mouth I'm punching.
You know what I'm saying?
This is not just some Joe Schmoe on the street
or some cat in a club or somebody,
you know what I mean, a friend or something.
This is a brother.
You know what I'm saying?
And this is her family, and I married into this.
But from what I hear, some people don't like their brothers,
just because it's the brother don't mean she don't like it.
Then why are we here?
Because obligation, the mom, dad.
Sometimes the parents want everybody to come together,
and you do it for them, not for the people you're coming together with.
Because it sounds like the brother was going in,
and I explained it in the TV safe way.
Is that normal sibling talk?
No.
But it may be normal sibling talk in their house,
is what I'm saying.
There's families and there's people.
People, they just disrespect each other.
They grew up like that.
This is so hard.
Because reverse the roles for a second, right?
Uh-huh.
So, and I have a little sister.
If I'm sitting there and my sister's imaginary husband,
because she's not married,
my sister's husband is berating her like that in front of the family.
And then I punch him in the face.
It's appropriate.
Okay.
So that part is okay.
So I can punch the husband.
The husband can't punch me.
No.
Not in your mother's house.
So just go on the sidewalk?
With your father and everybody sitting around,
and they've invited you to a space.
So what if you ask him, hey, man, this is escalating.
Why don't you and I go on outside and have a conversation?
Then it's okay.
And then if it escalates outside, I hate what you're saying.
And I see how it can go that way, right?
I'm saying I think the appropriate thing would have been
to just take your lady and leave.
Because I don't want to run and drive a wedge
in between my wife and her family.
But isn't that also going to drive a wedge?
No.
Because you're doing the whole thing of making a dramatic exit
and everyone's going to say, oh, they're leaving.
But you don't have to do it that way.
It's like, yo, listen.
But you're leaving.
Right, but he's being disrespectful
and it's going to create a situation
where I'm going to do something that's inappropriate.
And so I'm taking my wife and I'm leaving.
Now, if my wife says, hey, Mike, man, I'm staying.
This is your family.
You want to be disrespected by your brother and all of that?
As long as I'm not hearing it and I don't see it, that's on y'all.
And don't come home and talk about it.
The voice of reason, Mike Grannis.
I feel like I had a hard time not punching, dude.
But I hear what you're saying.
That's why you leave, Bill.
I'm the light, open, good news guy.
But it's like, yo, I talked to you about this multiple times.
You're going to keep disrespecting my wife?
I know.
All right, so that was our question of the day.
Hit us up on social media.
Let us know what you think.
Cara says, good for the husband.
Stand by your man.
The coffee girl said he did right by his wife.
Now she needs to do right by him.
Peace out, family.
This is how they get down.
They're all from Philly.
This is all Philly comments.
They're like, yo, Mike is a punk.
That's wrong.
Big C Buggy says she's building her own family,
so she picks the family.
It's timely.
Also points out we're only getting one side of the story,
which is true.
Frank the barber said him and his wife should have just left.
As Mike says, the violence doesn't have to happen.
And then Kay Lash says she has to side with herself.
Her husband did right by her by defending her.
There's more to this story.
As with all family drama.
Look at this.
These are all women who are stepping up.
One more.
I agree with the husband.
Don't disrespect.
Later, fam.
All right.
All Philly?
Yeah, they all from Philly.
Look at that.
Some brother.
Hats off to her husband for standing up for her,
even though violence is a harsh way.
But stand by your man, girl.
Hubby did his job.
Good for the hubby.
I'm happy.
All right.
Great break.
And we'll be right back.
Somebody right now is calling that number we put on the screen.
Right, right, right.
They go, he hit me.
We'll be back.
Stay tuned.
Slash walk.
Alex and Mike, on the airwaves, giving what you like.
Topics on fleek, 11 o'clock every day of the week.
Sweet on Fox.
There's a lot there, man.
Now you got to fight the whole family.
Now you got to fight the whole family.
There's a lot there, man.
The next family reunion, you show up,
and all the cousins they grew up with are there.
That's too much.
I don't need that stress on me, man.
I'm just leaving.
There you go. That's mature. That's grown.
Most of our viewing audience is not on board with you.
I got the collapsible seat today.
I keep going like this. I'm sitting there like,
welcome to man. Seat keeps shrinking. All right.
So we actually, we were upstairs arguing about
this slash discussing this.
So there is a woman who we've done these people before.
They take the experiences that they've had and people, they, they,
Make them into songs and tell the story and what have you,
using those AI things that create songs.
So there's a woman who is a supervisor
who said that one of her workers requested time off.
I guess she denied the time off as the supervisor
and the worker sent this song.
I hate hiring Gen Z, and I'm going to show you exactly why.
I declined one of my employees' PTO for the day of Halloween
because it's a day that we're very busy.
And this is what she sent me.
And that sounds like a company loss, not mine.
That is non-refundable at six, so respectfully.
I don't know whether to fire her,
give her the PTO and an extra day off.
Or, I don't know what to do.
Give me some evidence.
So, what do you do?
It was a management mistake.
Not mine.
I wasn't asking for the paid time off.
I told you I'm not coming in that day.
All right, so you were siding with HR.
Yeah, I mean, if she gave her enough notice,
and, like, I don't know when she put the day in, right?
And I don't know when she denied it.
But she also knew that Halloween was a busy day.
Like, that probably wasn't a secret.
You know what I mean?
It's like, yo, we needed you at work, man.
You ain't show up.
And then you're going to send me this dumb song?
It's a good song.
Look.
AI song.
Yeah, a little dumb AI song.
Is it a management mistake?
Well, management's going to stop making mistakes.
You fired.
Like, that's the last mistake we'll make with you.
How about that?
Is HR here?
Yeah, see, now it's just in there right there.
Because I wonder if, like, can you then do,
because what you're talking about
is then punishing somebody for just, just.
Trying to use the days that they're entitled to.
But we denied it already.
But what if they went through the whole process?
Most places have rules.
You have to request two weeks in advance or whatever.
Assume that they did all of that.
Can you just deny their time off
because you don't want them to have it?
I don't know, because I don't approve nobody's time off.
No, me neither.
But I've had time off denied.
What do you mean?
Y'all are managers.
Y'all don't do that.
I've had time off denied.
Me too.
So, you know what I'm saying?
And I didn't make a song about it.
I'd be more upset about the song than the fact that she said,
like, if she could have
called and be like, listen.
I didn't spend all this money.
Like, I really would like to have this day off.
Can we work something out?
That would be one thing.
But you make this little stupid AI song.
You send it to me like, you're smacking me in the face.
I think the song was created.
Like, you're insulting me right now.
I like the song.
You know what I'm saying?
That might fall under insubordination.
What, because I'm creative?
You created this song to make fun of me right now.
So if they had just said, no, I'm not going
to do it, that would have been better.
Or if you would have just called and we had a conversation about it.
Hey, listen, I spent this money on this costume.
I had plans that night.
I did this, that, and the third.
Is there anything we could do to make this work out?
And we might have been able to figure something out.
But you're just going to be like, that's a management mistake.
I ain't coming in.
Okay, don't come in the next day either.
Or the day after that.
Red Fox saying for this, if it rain
tomorrow, you ain't got to come to work.
If it rain after that, you ain't got to come to work.
Okay.
So I feel like people who would do that,
who would send a song like that,
don't seem particularly concerned about losing their job anyway.
Right.
So it was one of those.
But what was interesting to me is in a lot of the comments,
it started the whole debate about whether, if you follow all the rules,
Mm-hmm.
A request or just giving notice that you're not coming in?
It's a request.
That's what I thought.
I don't know.
At least here it's a request.
You've got to be approved.
Let me ask Adrian.
You can't just assume.
But if you go, like if it says the rules say you have
to give two weeks notice for this time off,
which is supposed to be giving enough notice for them to fill the seat.
And, again, we don't know what this person does.
So I'm sure it varies.
You can't be a surgeon and sit there and do that.
If you follow all of the rules, request the time off.
There were a lot of people in the comments
who were saying PTO just stands for prepare the others.
I'm not asking you.
I'm telling you I won't be here today.
Is it paid time off?
Is it a request or what?
Is it a request or just notice
that you're telling somebody you're not going to be in?
As long as you follow the rules.
Like, I don't know, because I mean, at least here you send in a request
and it has to be approved before it's officially acknowledged.
But a lot of people in the comments were going, I'm not asking.
Like, I'm telling you, I'm not going to be here that day.
And I gave you two weeks notice that I'm having dental surgery.
Right. But if I told you in advance, like, look, man, we can't
you know, this is a busy time for us and we need everybody here.
And then you go and throw your day in.
But it creates this, it creates this,
it's an interesting dilemma because everybody wants
off the busy times.
Right.
But if we're in an industry where everybody has to work
when it's busy, then you should
have picked a job in an industry that they're not busy on this day.
But isn't that every industry?
No, it's not every industry.
So that's retail, that's media, that's business, that's finance.
You go sell insurance?
Right.
I get it.
We're going to wait and see what HR says.
Let us know what you think.
Hit us up on social media.
We have a little screen you can put up
to tell people how to hit us up on social media.
There you go.
That's what you do.
We might be able to get Mike to 10,000
on Instagram by the end of the year.
We're going to push for that.
I'm just trying to get to 1,000.
I'm at zero right now.
This thing broke again.
I'm just trying to get 1,000 on YouTube.
That's that. Bill Anderson on TV. Hit me up.
We're trying to get Alex to a million,
but I don't know we can do that by December. We're going to work on it.
Quick break. We'll be right back. Stay tuned.
No cool, conversations,
T-shirt out the box.
Faux cool.
Bell, Alex, and Mike.
Not a lot of time left,
so I'm trying to figure out
if we go to some more of the comments
and save another topic for tomorrow.
We got to get another commercial break?
Yeah, we got one more to get in.
Just take it right now.
Yeah.
Right.
Why not?
More comments coming in with so many people.
So many people have different feelings on this as well.
Somebody text you, they should send back a creative song.
A creative song about you fired.
You know what I'm saying?
I asked HR, she didn't reply.
She might think I had an issue.
She's probably not watching right now.
HR's probably busy at work.
And they're sitting there going,
is Mike trying to find out if he can just
not come to work on Christmas or Thanksgiving?
Didn't he request today?
They said no, and now he want to know if he can just push back.
Like, no, that's not it.
Why is Mike asking these hypotheticals?
I need to know how to do the AI song, Suno, or whatever.
I can show you that.
Bill got it figured out.
Sean upstairs got it figured out, too.
All right.
Yeah, we started doing that.
Oh, that's true, for a moment of the day.
So I think we should, maybe we do that.
We start sending every interaction we have,
we'll start sending a song.
We'll be like, y'all watch BAM.
Here's what I'm thinking.
Thank you.
It's all of our next commercial.
And we appreciate all of the people who are sponsoring.
I get in this like that.
I'll just throw you in.
Jump in here with me.
Just throw me in.
Meanwhile, we still haven't gone to commercial.
I'm trying to make sure people are informed and paid.
Take a quick break.
We'll be right back.
I'm sorry, that did come across kind
of judgmental, right?
Like, you could have just been like, yo, I hear something.
There was something playing in the studio.
And right before we came back, I looked at Mike.
I was like, yo, is your phone playing some noise or something?
What's going on?
Never occurred to me it might be out.
But also, like, it's commercial break.
Right, you know what I mean?
But no, he just think I'm the unprofessional one at the table.
But how is that unprofessional?
It's not unprofessional.
I think that you are the rebellious one at the table.
It had a tinge, too.
Right, like, you're the one who's going to,
if anybody's going to fail us, it'll be Mike.
I was looking out.
That's the way it felt.
I was like, because the phone was down.
The reason in my head, Mike's phones were sitting there.
So in my head, I'm like, does he not know that's playing?
Because I didn't want the mics to come back on,
and who knows what hip-hop song you're listening to.
That's a good point.
Would have just gotten us in trouble.
And I can't take any more of those.
So we're all good.
All right, we got to get ready to get up out of here.
The drops we should look for on your page?
Yes, there's one coming today, maybe two.
Alex Holly TV on Instagram and TikTok.
Alex Holly Fox 29 on Facebook.
The drops are coming.
Hit him with a bang, bang.
A million by Christmas.
You know what I'm saying?
Let's go.
How about you?
The drops?
Something will come, y'all.
Just be watch for it.
