Warmer weekend, but why you should stay away from the coast

We're taking a peek out from Monument Peak,
which I know is a little over 2,600 feet.
Okay, I got that stat straight there.
Now, let's take a look at where these clouds are deriving from.
This is our future cast as of this hour,
and you see the clouds all the way due west,
and they're actually coming from the north of us.
We have some storminess around Seattle and to the north in Vancouver,
and we see these clouds drift in and out for your Friday,
but it's not going to hamper.
The autumn warmth. So we are going to escalate with our temperatures.
And here comes your Saturday morning sunup again right around 6:40.
And we see we have a shield of clouds across the North Bay
and then it drifts off to the south.
So I'll call it some filtered sunshine.
And then we will see tomorrow morning with the clouds as a blanket.
Temperatures not as cold as they have been.
Anywhere from 40 degrees in Santa Rosa to 49 in Watsonville.
How about 50s is pretty common across the Bayshore
and 48 degrees in Santa Rosa.
in Concord. Now we have a big change,
an extension in your coastal flood advisory.
We are now including the Pacific Coast all the way to Monterey Bay
and Big Sur. This is supposed to expire by tomorrow night.
But then around the Bayshore here, including the North Bay and all
the way to Elviso, that has been extended all the way through Tuesday.
Another extension, beach hazard statement.
And I really did expect this, too, because the surf is mighty big,
all the way up to 16 feet over the weekend.
All the way up to 20 feet, these waves, next week.
That gives us a good indication we have some storminess coming.
Now, first off, those waves are building out of the west and southwest.
Right now, they have declined somewhat.
We do have off the Santa Cruz coast
and Monterey Bay coast, those waves up to 9 feet.
Look at this.
We have big doings to the north of us.
This area of low pressure,
I cannot say it's an atmospheric river, but it has that El Nino.
Really thumbprint to it.
So it's swiping across the Pacific Northwest and falling apart.
Then the secondary one is going to start
to begin to dig a trough into the Bay Area.
And when that happens there,
that's when we start to see the storms line up.
So on Veterans Day, you could have some light rain.
Right now we're going with the cloud cover,
but behind it, it's just a mess.
Look at these storms stacked up like planes at SFO.
So watchful eye on the forecast.
I believe Wednesday is going to be like our transition day.
And two, a completely different weather pattern here in the Bay Area.
Let's start off with tomorrow.
Your forecast high is a cloudy start, then sun and clouds mix.
Temperature 67 degrees in Half Moon Bay, up to 76 in Santa Rosa,
but warmer than that, near 80 in Gilroy.
I'm going with 80 degrees over the weekend to end the warmest location.
Look at that, 82, 83, before we dip on Monday
and Tuesday and we start to see the rain move in.
We'll be right back after this.
