DA: Kenosha police use of force justified

This just in, the Kenosha County District Attorney makes an important decision in an officer-involved shooting from May. The DA says Officer Michael O'Neill's use of deadly force was lawful and was justified. A domestic call led to an hours-long tactical situation near 50th Street and 14th Avenue. Police say, as the suspect, Andre Casas, exited the home through a window as they tried to take him into custody, the officer shot the suspect. He was taken into custody and to the hospital where he did survive. A gun was found. With today's ruling, no criminal charges will be issued against the officer. New remains have been found in the Shadie Robinson case. The 19-year-old was killed and dismembered back in 2024. Fox 6's Ashley Sears is live with her mother's plea to continue the search for more remains. Ashley? Yeah, hi Ted. Part of Robinson's jaw and some of her teeth were discovered here in Warnemont Park. A person walking along the beach made that discovery on Friday. That beachgoer called authorities and the medical examiner's office confirmed they were Shadie Robinson's remains. Robinson was killed and dismembered in April 2024 following a first date. Parts of her body were found across Milwaukee County, including in this park. Maxwell Anderson was convicted in the case and sentenced to life in prison. Robinson's mother held a news conference today asking the public to look out, especially if they are walking the shoreline anywhere from Waukegan, Illinois, to Cudahy. Robinson's skull still has not been found. Her mother says family deals with the pain of this case daily. This has been traumatic. We want my baby's crown. I still don't have my baby's crown. My beautiful angel, hey baby, please continue to say all of the names of all of our missing and our murdered BIPOC, all individuals. The volunteers and family will continue to search looking for Shadie Robinson's skull. They will be back out on Sunday and they say the search will continue beyond that. Reporting live in Cudahy, Ashley Sears, Fox 6 News. Ashley, thank you for that update.
