Video Summary
AI GeneratedRahul Gandhi has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a one-on-one public debate to address various allegations. While the India Bloc supports this move to ensure democratic accountability, the BJP dismisses it as a diversionary tactic, insisting that all legitimate political discussions should take place within the formal framework of Parliament.
Hello and welcome. You're watching The Urban Debate.
And now after launching an online poll asking whether
the Prime Minister Narendra Modi should face him in an open debate,
Rahul Gandhi has declared victory on his own X account.
According to the poll results, 73% of the respondents voted
in favour of an open debate with the Prime Minister.
Seizing on the numbers, the leader
of opposition fired off another challenge, saying, and I quote,
that Modi ji will not go anywhere, he will just come to the debate.
And this online taunt came hours after
Rahul Gandhi repeated his challenge during his visit to Punjab,
claiming that the Prime Minister cannot face him in a direct debate.
He even claimed that he could prove
his allegations against him in just five minutes.
I said, look, Mr. Modi, please come.
Wherever you come.
Sit with me.
Debate ki jiye.
There will be a table in the middle,
you sit on one side and I will sit on the other side.
I guarantee you, I guarantee the country.
Narendra Modi can't come and sit in front of me.
All his politicians are saying to have a discussion in the parliament.
Brother, you shut down my mic in the parliament.
And I am giving you a guarantee.
It won't take a minute.
I will prove in a minute that Narendra Modi is a traitor.
Donald Trump controls
Narendra Modi.
Now, Rahul Gandhi's India Bloc allies, meanwhile,
have also rallied behind the leader of the opposition,
the Samajwadi Party, hitting out at the BJP,
saying that it has nothing to say
because it fears addressing issues such as paper leak and vote chori.
When it comes to the RJD, has also doubled down,
asserting that the debate is essential,
characteristic when it comes to defining a democracy.
Then comes Shiv Sena Uddhav faction,
also taking the challenge a step further,
daring the prime minister to also face Rahul Gandhi in a debate,
saying that if he has the courage,
he should then face the leader of the opposition.
Sir, don't talk. Tell the Prime Minister to test his intelligence.
Tell the people what this great and wise Vishwa Guru is.
People should know.
I am sitting in front of Rahul Ji on the table.
And as Rahul Ji said, make Bhagwat Sir sit.
So make him sit as the judge.
And let the country decide.
Speaking while the BJP is hit back,
addressing a rally in Haryana, Home Minister Amit Shah
responded directly to Rahul Gandhi's challenge,
saying that the party is ready to debate the
SIR issue and even convene a special parliamentary session for it.
He's questioned the Congress's intentions,
accusing the party of disrupting parliamentary
proceedings and insulting the democratic structure.
Rahul Baba,
where was the SIR in 2014?
Even there, you've been wiped out.
Where was the SIR in 2019?
You had lost, even in 2024 there was no SIR,
still you had lost.
And they say, 13 crore votes were cut.
I want to challenge Rahul ji from this month.
Do you challenge Narendra Modi ji for discussion?
Rahul ji, there is no need for Modi ji.
If you want to discuss, then write a letter to Modi ji.
We are ready to call a special meeting
for discussion on SIR.
So then why is the Home Minister saying this?
The BJP points out what it calls his repeated pattern,
accusing the opposition of working out of parliamentary proceedings
every time that the Prime Minister rises to speak.
This, and the BJP argues, contradicts Rahul Gandhi's current challenge
to the Prime Minister to face him in a debate.
Now, exactly when it comes to several
of these incidents that have happened in the past,
let's highlight them.
Back on the 10th of August in 2023,
the opposition walked out during the Prime Minister's reply on Manipur.
Then, on the 3rd of July 2024, the opposition staged
a walkout during the Prime Minister's Rajya Sabha speech.
Then, on the 10th of December 2025,
the opposition staged a walkout during Amit Shah's poll reply.
Then, this year in February, the opposition staged a walkout
when the Prime Minister was speaking in the Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, other BJP leaders also weighed in,
dismissing Rahul Gandhi's challenge as an attempt to divert attention
from what they called as the opposition's failed Ramleela Maidan rally.
Some even labelled it as part of Anarki toolkit.
Rahul Gandhi,
let alone the 73%
youth mentioned
in your mock poll,
even youth congress office bearers
of your own party consider you utterly unfit and incompetent.
Which is why they snubbed you by boycotting your failed rally.
Rahul Gandhi has now become very nervous and rattled.
Which is why he is enacting this desperate drama
to frantically divert attention and somehow cover up.
So political temperatures that are also soaring
in Punjab as the state gears up for the 2027
assembly elections at the core of the campaign
are debates like law and order, rising drug
menace and alleged corruption.
Now the Man Sarkar, which has been consistently
at the receiving end of the opposition's
hire over these issues, among others,
where Rahul Gandhi, who kickstarted the Congress's
party Punjab, pulled blitz by shooting direct charges
at the chief minister and of the
Aam Aadmi party.
He questions the promise of making Punjab Nasha Mukh, alleging that CM
Bhagwant Mann used to smell of alcohol in parliament as early as 11am.
Even when it comes to saying that a CM must rather lead by example
if the government is serious about fighting the drug menace.
Drugs are the biggest issue in Punjab.
Chitta is the biggest issue.
Synthetic drugs are the biggest issue.
Medical drugs are the biggest issue.
These drugs cannot be removed.
In the morning.
He used to sit next to us and tell us jokes,
and at 11 a.m. he used to smell alcohol from his mouth.
If you want to fight with intoxication,
then the Chief Minister cannot be intoxicated every evening.
So let's open this up and introduce again, you know,
our panelists who are joining us here on the urban debate.
And of course, the issue which has now been highlighted largely
when it comes to the elections,
the political bugle and the campaign
that has now taken right from the root of SAD to Sansad.
Now, Vinusha Reddy from the BJP is with us.
Subhashra is joining us from the churn.
We also have Pooja Tripathi ji from the Congress Party.
We have Pooja Mishra ji from the Samajwadi Party
and Bikram Jeet ji from the Aam Aadmi Party joining in.
Thank you very much all of you for taking out your time.
Let's get a Congress perspective first.
Pooja Tripathi ji, when we speak of this entire issue,
is the issue just pertaining to the venue?
Because it seems, Pooja ji, both sides
are ready for a debate and discussion.
Challenge to Rahul Gandhi de rahe hain.
BJP bhi accept kar rahi hain.
Lekin charcha hogi kahan?
Sir, we are challenging you because, you know, we saw the last session.
We see Prime Minister never attending the Parliament.
He only attends when there is an echo of Modi, Modi, Modi, Modi.
He just comes, accuses, you know, two-thirds of his speech.
He abuses Nehru, Indira, Rajiv.
And then he doesn't talk about anything else.
And he leaves.
And that's not a healthy democracy.
Ramesh Shah was actually counter-challenging him,
and the fact is, nobody asked him first
of all, and second is, when he is asking,
on 21st of July, the monsoon session started.
21st July, 13th of August, he was not there.
He was not there at the floor of the parliament.
He was coming to parliament, sitting in office.
I come to the TV, you know, he saw the proceedings and he left.
And on 13th of July, he came in, participated for four sessions.
minutes of Vande Mataram singing and he left
and this is the person who is saying him special
session. The whole opposition,
the complete joint opposition's demand was they wanted answers
from Amit Shah itself, not from Narendra Modi ji.
From Amit Shah that why the pellet guns were
targeted on the students, why the student protesters were hit.
But no, he never came
and made a statement.
It's not the way they are today talking about when you do the actually
Help us the, you know, the.
The duty of running the parliament is with treasury benches.
Do they actually do that?
Do they actually receive, you know, accept the urgent matter notices?
Do they actually accept the applications
for an urgent matter discussions?
No, it's never such that.
It's either my way or Hyder's way.
And then the parliament is adjourned and you should have, you know,
you have this audacity to say, come, we'll discuss it in parliament.
The parliament, you and Mr. Narendra Modi ji never attend.
Never attend to them, never attend.
You always need a theatrics, you always need a huge propaganda,
and you always need a monologue to attend the parliament.
You never attend the discussions that's happening there.
And that's why we are, this challenge is one-on-one.
From the leader of opposition to Narendra Modi ji,
and why is the whole cabinet...
What are you speaking? I mean, I'm not understanding this point.
Because again, I repeat, because both sides say
that they are ready for a debate and discussion.
Usually, debate and discussions, where do they take place?
I don't think Narendra Modi ji has said that he is ready for a debate.
When you can decide, judges, he can decide,
he can decide, his pliable media,
whatever he wants to, he can decide anything.
I have laid out several accounts as far as when
the Prime Minister has started to speak
or when the LOP stops to speak,
immediately he vacates, he leaves the house.
And the government is of the opinion that we will give you
and you know, when it comes to if you want to debate in discussion,
we are ready. This has been said previously, Subrahmanya ji,
when it comes to other, you know, sessions as well of the parliament,
the government has come out to say that repeated disruptions
is not helping anybody. Yes, Subrahmanya.
Minister ji, thank you for having me. I just did a quick online search
to find out the attendance records as was being discussed.
It's not mandatory either for the leader of opposition
or for the prime minister or any of the union ministers to actually,
you know, sign the attendance register.
So I don't know where this data is coming from.
Because if one were to look at the attendance records as you,
you know, then we can only do it through quality of debates
and discussions that happen in the parliament.
Thank
The records are for everybody to see.
All the street protests that we see in the country,
please tell me if they have been raised in the parliament
you
in the tone and tenor that it should have been raised.
Whenever discussions have happened in the parliament,
it's the leader of opposition
very
who has chosen to discuss everything under the sun
except the issue which has been taken up.
Also, I don't want to get into this whole political slugfest of,
much.
you know, I challenge you and I challenge the other,
because that kind of challenge has been happening since 2012.
Modi ji used to challenge Rahul Gandhi ji to come
and debate on a public forum.
That never happened.
Suddenly, Rahul Gandhi ji has realized that, OK,
this is a strategy that you can use when you are in opposition.
My point is, when you are a legitimate representative
of the people inside the parliament,
what stops you from tabling bills that can actually.
Get your work done. If you want the election commissioner,
the office of the election commission to be absolutely dismantled,
because that's the road perhaps the narrative has taken up,
that, you know, election commission,
whosoever will come to the power right now will be pliant to the BJP.
The word pliant media was used on your channel.
So the point is that every institution in this country,
according to the opposition,
is completely taken away.
So what's the alternative that they are proposing? Can
they do it on the floor of Parliament on a written,
you know, as a written documentary
bill that can be debated by, why just the Prime Minister?
By people like us? I would also want
to see what exactly is the alternate model
of elections that Rahul Gandhi proposes. I mean,
He is declaring that he is the Prime Minister
and he comes face-to-face and he just needs
five minutes, not even six minutes,
and he will expose the Prime Minister.
That is the kind of challenge that he seems to be putting in.
Pooja Mishra ji, let me take opening comments from everybody.
Pooja Mishra ji, are you game
when it comes to this open challenge of having this debate?
And where will it happen?
Ma'am, where is the debate?
And what is the position that actually Rahul Gandhi occupies?
It's a constitutional post.
Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha.
Where is the Lok Sabha, ma'am?
Parliament.
When our prime minister doesn't do debate in parliament,
then definitely he should debate
outside the parliament, because in the parliament,
the government thinks that it's a rally.
They come to address the parliament, not to debate.
We haven't witnessed our PM,
we haven't witnessed our home minister to debate on
bills or to discuss on bills.
They have been addressing the parliament and opposition can't,
you know, table a bill.
That right belongs to government.
We can give.
Give adjourn motion to the speaker of Lok Sabha
and we have been doing it.
Just inform me a single day,
a single day when the Lok Sabha speaker said that
this adjourn motion of opposition has been accepted.
No, never that happened.
Every day, whenever the speaker sits on his chair, he'll be like,
no adjourn motion of opposition has been accepted.
No adjourn motion of opposition has been accepted.
Then what do you want opposition to do?
That Prime Minister and the government is addressing the Parliament
and opposition should behave like they are spectators.
They should sit there and just hear the address of government.
The people of India have sent us
into the Parliament to discuss their issues.
No, but then parliamentary proceedings will become redundant.
If we have to take a decision on the road, Vinusha ji,
what is the point of holding these multiple sessions?
The government says we are ready to hold a special session on SIR.
We have all of the answers ready to all of the questions
that are being raised by the opposition.
Coming to you, Pooja ji.
Amitaji, the question was for me, right?
Yes, Vinusha.
Yeah.
Amitaji, I was listening to the Congress spokesperson
and she was telling something about the theatrics.
Now, I will expose the theatrics of
their leader, Rahul Gandhi, in just 20 seconds.
You were able
to listen to this
when he was challenging...
Sorry, I will let you know.
I mean, I can speak on that, what he was speaking.
One second.
Oh.
I've seen that you do have her here.
Yes, please make your point, Vinusha.
Yeah, yeah, I'll take the point.
See, their own leader Rahul Gandhi
yesterday went on to say that
Narendra Modi has signed the US deal.
Madam, the Congress spokesperson here,
please answer, where is that US deal
and when was it signed?
US ambassador Shashidhar visited India
just two days back and said that
the US deal is in the final stages with India
and they will sign it soon.
This is the liar Rahul Gandhi
and this is the not first time he is lying.
Regarding Rafale, he said the same thing,
within one hour I will expose.
And then he went to court and said, I am sorry.
And regarding to the Panama Papers,
he said lies about our own party leaders.
And then he said, I am sorry.
Regarding Veer Savarkar ji, he said lies and he said, I am sorry.
He is a perpetual liar.
And whenever he gets the stage,
he goes on to speak illogical, nonsense things like this.
I woke up in the midnight.
The size of India is much bigger than the European Union and the US.
This is a war of narratives
and a political discourse that is being witnessed.
Let's clear it out.
When did he say sorry on Savarkar, Ms. Reddy?
Can you tell me?
Madam,
do you challenge
Mr. Narendra Modi?
So let's not get lost
when it comes to the debate that we
are holding because here, Bikram ji
Your opposition, both of the political parties have
their representatives here.
And when it comes to Rahul Gandhi, he was just there in Punjab.
He has also put out an open challenge
and making some very serious allegations against the chief minister.
And the same kind of allegations
is also being levelled on part of the BJP.
Amita, first of all, I want to talk about the topic of the debate.
Even in USA, even in France,
the debates and discussions between the senior leaders.
In parliament, in legislature, even outside the walls
of the parliament are common and for the benefit of the democracy.
So there is no, there must not be any hesitation in the mind
of any leader that he should run away from the debates or discussion.
These are for the benefit of the democracy.
And second thing is a question about Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi himself is running from many questions.
Even just three days back, their leader, Mr. Dhillon,
had beaten Mr. Ranjit Singh Tarkhan Majra, who's a Dalit leader,
and he beaten him in presence of his son brutally,
and even abused him in the name of caste.
But Rahul Gandhi has not given even
a single answer to these relevant questions.
Rahul Gandhi has come in Punjab in this month of November,
but he has not given any reply
to the questions of Delhi, Moscow,
Blue Star operation, why the Sikhs were killed and why
the persons who were conspirators in the killing
of Sikhs were given tickets, promotions in
Promotions in their party.
I must say that either it is Modi ji
who cannot speak without teleprompter,
he cannot speak without slips
and although it is Rahul Gandhi who does not put any limit
on his words but the discussion must be there
and I request you to call Mr Modi, Rahul Gandhi,
Kejriwal ji in front of all the people in all the channels
and for the democracy it is necessary.
Call them. Every leader must give right reply to the questions.
If he is a leader,
he is responsible to give the reply. I think so. This is my opinion.
Okay. Pooja Tripathi ji, respond on both of the allegations coming
in from the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party.
Lies through their teeth are not, you know, she hasn't given me proof
of Mr. Savarkar, sorry being said to Mr. Savarkar.
And when he talked about the US trade deal,
I don't want to interrupt, but see the proof.
Yeah, yeah. When did he say sorry? Give me the proof.
He has a, you know, Savarkar. And you can keep your proof to yourself.
He is a freedom fighter and SP wants Rahul Gandhi over Savarkar.
Now, please repeat, madam.
Now, please repeat, madam.
Please repeat, madam.
The Supreme Court said that $500 million commitment has been provided.
Then there was a February 9 case check sheet which said we have,
you know, we have promised them to reduce our consumption on oil.
And that's what we are saying.
That's when we talk about the U.S. trade deal.
If you have the, you know, if you have the clarity on us,
please tell us that we have not given them a $500 million commitment.
Tell us that we have not given them
a commitment of reducing the Russian oil.
Let's not smoke from the issue.
We are discussing SIR.
Ladies, please.
He wanted to discuss on U.S. deal.
Yes, let's talk about the issue.
Let's talk about SIR.
Let's talk about the open challenge.
Yes, Pooja ji.
Open challenge.
In a democracy, every leader should be open to that scrutiny.
Why is Narendra Modi ji not open?
I remember in 2024 also, two judges, I may be mistaken,
N. Ram, the editor of Hindu,
invited Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi ji for an open debate.
Rahul Gandhi ji said he is ready to that.
But that assurance never came from Prime Minister Modi.
And why is the whole BJP senior leadership,
everybody is coming on the debate.
No, nobody has asked you. Nobody has asked you.
Please sit down and let Prime Minister reply.
He is only a person who in last 12 years has not done an open answer.
Then why does the opposition stage a walkout
when the Prime Minister speaks?
Only indulges in Mann Ki Baat monologue.
What is wrong in a debate?
Let the, you know, you say that you can shred Rahul Gandhi to pieces.
Come on a debate and shred him to pieces.
We invite you.
I said, your judge, your media, everybody.
Livestream is your seat.
And what's the scare of somebody who is so-called,
you know, chappan and so-called a good orator
is actually scared of a debate.
What is in which democracy doesn't...
I don't think either side has said refuse to a debate.
Shubhashwar ji, that seems to be the beauty of democracy because we
are fighting that we are open for a debate, the other side also says we
are also open for a debate, so what's the point of fighting?
Amitaji, two things. Sorry, I want to set the record on Savarkar.
This is a widely covered story.
I think Times of India equally covered the story.
It was, I think it was April 28th when the story was carried.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who represented Rahul Gandhi on the whole Savarkar
issue, actually got a verbal thrashing from the Supreme Court.
And Mr. Rahul Gandhi was virtually gagged.
And he was warned of Suomoto action if he derided the freedom fighter.
and the Hindutva proponent in future. Those were the exact words.
He says, that is, the justice said, Justice Dipankar Dutta said,
this is not the way you treat our freedom fighters.
He further goes on to say, to Abhishek Manu Singhvi,
does your client, that is Mr. Rahul Gandhi, know that Mahatma Gandhi
also used your faithful servant while addressing the viceroy?
So I think this should settle the scores.
These are all parts of public record. I don't think anybody,
anybody who has basic access to internet can do this.
Now the question of public debate.
There is a reason why India chose the form of democracy that we have.
This whole idea, this whole theatrics
of public debate, public debate on what?
Is Rahul Gandhi ready to do a public debate on NRC and CAA
when he spoke nothing on the floor of parliament?
Whenever he was asked to speak, he spoke about everything under
the sun, except specific changes to the bill.
When it was about farm bills, tell me three constructive changes
that Rahul Gandhi suggested to the bill.
Apart from saying, you know, that repeal the bill,
take the farmers back to wherever, you know, they were supposed to be.
Tell me substantive policy issues that Rahul Gandhi has tabled
on the floor of the parliament, saying that this is what I want to do.
I don't want to listen on this is what I don't want.
I know what the opposition does not want.
I don't know what the opposition wants.
Rahul Gandhi has behaved like an irresponsible,
petulant child who wants to do mock UNs, mock
parliaments.
So then do it in front of a mock public, who cares?
You can continue doing.
You can continue having events.
Is the opposition going to dictate terms to the government?
No, I don't think the government,
the government think it's a dictatorship here in India.
No, are you going to say that you do these on our terms,
else, sadak pe faisla?
No, we never said that we do, you do on our terms.
If the government says, it's government.
If government says, do everything on our terms.
Otherwise, we are not listening to you.
Otherwise, we, you know, MPs will be just thrown out of the Lok Sabha.
That will happen.
That's what government has been doing.
And I think the Charanjee,
she never hears what's happening in the Lok Sabha.
She has a polarizing film.
that filters out what the opposition paper says.
She just hears, I mean, like the address of the government only
because we have, during the farmers' protest as well,
the farmer bill as well,
we continuously say that they are asking for MSP.
Why don't you go for MSP?
If you have, you know, said that you have promised them to give MSP,
you are not working on that.
Why to, you know, to come for...
You know, introduce a law where the land of farmers would be taken.
Why to go for privatization kind of thing in the case of farmers?
But she didn't hear all those stuff.
Why she didn't hear?
Because she has the polarization film where she filter out what
the opposition said.
Isn't the opposition actually taking credit
for the withdrawal of the farm laws?
Didn't that also happen?
We are not taking credit.
Credit for withdrawal of the farmers' bill.
It goes to the farmers.
600 farmers, you know,
600 farmers died during the protest.
Okay.
Vinusha ji responds.
Subrashtra just coming to you.
Yeah, I just need uninterrupted time,
particularly from the Congress spokesperson.
And the SP spokesperson was telling
what is happening in Lok Sabha.
Madam, do you know what is happening in Lok Sabha?
The leader of opposition,
the leader of opposition, Rahul Gandhi,
attended only...
Better than you.
I know what's happening in Lok Sabha.
Better than you.
Because we have...
Let's just turn this into a shouting match,
please, again, making that request, one by one.
That is why I'm coming one by one to everyone.
Every time she comes, every time she comes,
they don't put her in a point.
That's the issue, Amita ji. That's the issue with the government.
Because the position is at 79%.
How many decisions did Rahul Gandhi attend on government bills?
Just one. Do you know how many private bills
were proposed by Rahul Gandhi?
A big zero. A big zero.
He was not there during the budget session 2019,
2020, 2022, 2023.
He was elected member of parliament
and Ambedkarji constitution clearly gives us a forum way to debate.
If you want the debate issue
is being raised,
but debate on what topic?
Vikramji ji.
Amita.
Yes.
Amita ji, first of all, I want to say, I want to say,
I'm sorry, all of you, I'm just making
that request again. Parliament will give you time,
but I have very limited time here on
the debate. Yes, Vikram ji.
Amita ji, first of all, I want to say thanks to you.
You have shown that our women spokespersons
are more vocal than Modi ji and Rahul ji.
They occupy Constitutional positions, sir.
It is irrespective of gender. No, sir. No, sir.
They occupy Constitutional positions. They are elected by the people.
No, no, more vocal. I have stated more vocal.
They are representing more clearly.
They are representing more clearly. Our lady spokesperson.
Second thing is, there must be a debate inside
the Parliament as well as outside the Parliament.
On each and every important topic between the senior leaders,
even Mr. Modi ji have never
took part in any debate in the parliament.
I'm saying so because he used to come in the last
to address the parliament, not to take any part in this.
He has not even conducted any press
conference except with the interview with Mr. Akshay Kumar,
etc. Even Mr. Modi has run away
Listen away from all the questions concerned.
with the very important matters of the country either
these are related to economy, defense,
anything and he used to say words only.
He is not habitual of listening questions. On the other hand
Mr Rahul Gandhi used to ask me questions,
no doubt, but he is not ready to listen
the question about the Congress,
about the misdeeds conducted by the Congress leaders.
He's not even ready.
Both the parties, even yesterday, we were protesting against the
attitude, the conduct of the Congress leader
who had beaten Ranjit Singh. But what happened?
Police, which is under the control of the BJP government,
beaten our workers. They beat us.
Why? Because we are raising voice against the atrocity,
against the criminal act
caused by Mr. Dhillon. They are at that front.
Congress and BJP are running on the same passage.
But on the other...
But one thing is very necessary for the democracy of our country,
that even in Parliament, as well as outside the Parliament,
The senior leaders, the leaders responsible for the parties,
for the behavior of their workers, for the behavior of their leaders.
Mr. President, you just raised a question that I was about to ask.
I'm just taking now concluding statements now.
So, Rashtraji, because they are now narrowing down just
to the presence of the Prime Minister.
Now, there are representatives when it comes to ministries as well.
So, what are then they supposed to do?
Aren't they also the leaders who occupy important positions
and are representatives of the same government?
Yes, Amitaji, absolutely. And let me also, because, you know,
these are concluding remarks, I don't want your viewers to go
to not hear the uncontested view of some of the gems that were,
you know, dished out on your show. Private members,
a private member bill can be introduced by the opposition members.
In fact, the backbenchers from the ruling party also can,
you know, submit a bill.
Only ministers are excluded since their bills are government bills.
So this is just to set the factual record correct.
Secondly, this whole,
this entire idea of farm bills that was being discussed,
I have immense respect for Samajwadi Party and I'll tell you why.
Because whether it's the current issue of SIR or the previous issue
of farm bills, Akhilesh Yadavji took a very nuanced position.
On farm bills, he only spoke about MSP and the government conceded
to his demands. He said, yeah, I mean, his point was about MSP.
The government said MSP is not going anywhere.
The point is that Rahul Gandhi does
not deserve to be the leader of opposition.
He's there only because of his family surname.
And let me tell you, Amitaji, UP elections are going to show
where Rahul Gandhi's political, you know, might stands.
It is very important to understand that you can raise questions
on every legitimate institution in the country.
They are not institutions that are, you know,
that have been formed by the Gandhi family.
The GHA and DY family,
this constitution is a living document that has been, you know,
that has had the blessings of Baba Sahib Bheem Rao Ambedkar.
People should recognize
that there were issues that were, you know,
put in directive principles of state policy
and constitution was amended to introduce the word socialist.
Farm bills was the only
time in this conversation could have
happened. What did Rahul Gandhi say?
He completely came down on the corporates
as if corporates are only his friends, Tatas and Birlas.
Corporate India is also the entrepreneurs and small farmers.
They are also, you know, farmers from Bihar
who have taken to Grih Udyog today and are making thekua.
Let me take those concluding remarks from Pooja Tripathi ji.
Is it, as far as the opposition indulging in hit
and run kind of a politics,
you raise the issue, elections over, come to next issue.
Please give me some time because on February 7th,
2021, Rahul Gandhi spoke in Parliament.
He talked about ACMC in Monday.
He talked about the corporate farming and he talked about MSP.
Also, our Congress leadership was led by Pratap Singh Bajwa.
He said we will not sign a death knell.
KC Venugopal, Digvijay Singh,
who was leading the Agricultural Committee,
he said the parliamentary proceedings have not been followed in this.
And when you say that, you know, the corporates are not,
why don't you give this advice to the central government?
Because you don't come from a Gandhi family,
you come from a Bharti Janata Party, you know,
supportive family, you should have given the advice
so that they do not have rolled back their
legislation. They sitting here and saying Congress,
12 MPs participated in the debate from
Adhir, Ranjan, Chaudhary and everybody.
We went to President with a signed declaration of all the
member of parliament from Punjab to say
that we requested President to withdraw the legislation.
Because if it starts coming from yours, you won't be able to take it.
Again, we seem to be
moving in circles.
No, no, no.
We seem to be moving in circles.
And these are all of the issues that have already happened.
What about the issues that currently concern us?
Pooja Mishra ji, the bigger challenge, Uttar Pradesh.
Coming up next.
And Amitaji, Samajwadi Party is working really hard on the ground,
along with the people.
We are fighting for their rights.
We are fighting for the people of Uttar Pradesh.
But Pooja Mishra ji, the contentious
issue always will be seed sharing, ma'am.
It's the job of Samajwadi Party.
What is, you know,
For Congress, that is Mallikarjun Kharge ji and Rahul Gandhi ji,
the moment formula will be clear, we will have a definite formula,
Amita ji, to win the election. Whether it will be 70-30,
if it will be 70-30, then also we will win the election.
If it will be 50-50, then also the formula, the seat sharing formula will
be that formula according to which we will win the election.
No matter whether 50-50 or 70-30 or 80-20.
Similar challenge,
Vikramjit ji coming
for Punjab
and this is a multi-pronged
challenge, sir.
In Punjab, we are going to repeat,
and we are going to repeat with more seats than 2022.
And one thing I want to clear, that Mr. Bhagwant Mann
is the only Chief Minister who used to give reply
either the question is asked in the Assembly or outside the Assembly.
How hard it may be, any question, he used to give reply,
he used to address on each and every matter.
But this is not the scenario in Parliament and with Mr. Modi.
Mr. Modi must give reply to the relevant questions of our country.
He must give reply to the matters which are concerning our country.
Melody is a good thing.
He can eat or he can distribute.
But he must come in India to give the answer.
Guys, in all of these, how are they going to work if back
and back to back, if the people
are going to vote, sir, ultimately it's going
to fall on the people's, you know, direction.
So all of these jives and the voter narrative
and these personal attacks is something that
we have seen the opposition also facing certain consequences.
Yes, Vinusha, concluding statement.
Amit, a such kind of, you know, below belt remark doesn't work.
And one last concluding remark from my side.
Just Rahul Gandhi should give a clarity
on which topic should be debated, either SAR
or the US deal, which has yet to be finalized,
but he claims that it has been already signed.
And if he wants to have a debate with Prime Minister Modi,
accept the challenge of Home Minister Anup Chaudhary
and let him come to Parliament.
Okay, if he doesn't want to come to Parliament,
as our MPs have said, he can choose any venue of his choice.
Either it is his newfound poster girl, Neha Boras, JNUR,
the judge could be Prashant Doshi and one of our MPs or so forth.
Now the Congress should come up with a clarity on what they want,
SIR or the non-finalized
U.S. deal.
They don't have a clarity.
Now, Amita, India has a NAVIC system
and it is functioning and it is showing this position.
But I think Congress and Rahul Gandhi clearly need
a NAVIC system of their own because they
are clueless and they don't know what is happening
and they change the topic before their leader
jumps to one another country.
All right. So all the debates and everything
that has been happening, yes, we've been holding
multiple debates almost on a daily basis.
But when it comes to debates, whether it's going to be
decided on social media or whether
in the parliament where the challenge still remains,
both sides have, however, said that they
are ready for a debate and discussion where this
will actually lead to. Thank you very much,
all of you, for joining us here on The Urban Debate.
