Dallas police have released some new video
from the deadly Halloween shootings in the Deep Ellum area.
Yeah, we are also learning more about the people who were killed.
Shannon Murray here now with the latest on that investigation.
Shannon.
Brandon, we now know the names
of the four people killed over the weekend in Deep Ellum
as police continue searching for the shooters.
Investigators say this is video of one of the gunmen
in a parking lot off Main Street around 1 a.m.
The video shows the man pulling a weapon
from his waistband multiple times and then start shooting.
It was one of three shootings
in the entertainment district on Halloween night.
Seven people were hurt in that shooting alone.
In all, four people were killed.
15 hurt in the series of shootings
that started around midnight on Sunday.
20-year-old Isaiah Bowling was killed on Elm Street.
Three others were killed on Crowder Street.
They are 21-year-old Kinesia Scott,
25-year-old Anthony Martin, and 28-year-old Unique Benjamin.
Benjamin moved to Chicago about a year ago,
but returned to DFW on Halloween weekend.
Her best friend pulled into Deep Ellum to meet up
when she saw the chaotic scene and could not get a hold of Benjamin.
She says she will always remember Benjamin as a loyal friend.
She was definitely a diamond in the rough.
Like, she...
She's very unique, like her name.
Like, you can't find a friend like her.
Anything I was going through, I could
call my friend, and she was just there.
She's going to come by.
She loved to cook.
Her cooking was amazing.
Amazing.
She just knows how to make a bad day better.
Deep Ellum is an entertainment district that's for adults,
which means that we have to find something
for you to be able to actually go,
where they are not just walking and roaming at 12,
11, you know, 1, 2 o'clock in the morning.
So that's another big problem.
Last night, the Deep Ellum Foundation hosted
a listening session for the community to discuss
ways to curb violence in the area.
Earlier this week, it was announced uniformed and
undercover federal law enforcement officers will
now assist Dallas police with patrolling Deep
Ellum. Police did arrest one man on a weapons charge,
but they have not connected him to the
shootings. Anyone with information on the shooters
or any video of the incidents
should contact Dallas police. Lauren and Brandon.
