From the flooding in Camp Verde,
we have some video to show you that was sent in.
From our viewer, Justin, take a look at this.
This is inside of his home here,
right in the Verde Valley and Camp Verde area.
Look at all the mud inside of their home on the floor.
The water was rising so fast.
This is video as they were trying to get out of there,
the water cresting the river.
And they had to get out of there to take care of their animals.
But that's a big truck, and it was coming up to past the wheel wells
as they were trying to get out of town and get to safety.
Thankfully, they were, but now they've got that mess to clean up
with so many other people, too, in that same situation.
Yeah, such a mess. The flooding also flipping trailer homes,
leaving families to clean up all of that mess.
And we're hearing from a lot of folks up in the Camp Verde area
who are now displaced from the storm.
You saw why. Fox 10's Andrew Christensen live
in Camp Verde with more tonight on that. Andrew.
Yeah, the damage here at this RV resort is just super extensive.
I mean, there are RVs and trailers on their side
and the people that live here actually have to live in the community
center right over there and they say they have to find a new home.
I've never been homeless in my life but here I am.
Rick Barad spent 27 years traveling in his RV
but now like many others living at Verde River RV Resort
and Cottages his home is gone. The recent
flood waters flipped over his motor home.
I'm convinced that the unit has totaled my clothes.
And medicines and whatever are still in the rig.
Ruthann Wheatman's husband was trapped in his truck
and their trailer was also flipped.
My husband was in the truck and trailer,
but when he was rescued out of it, it was still upright.
But by morning, it was pushed over on its side.
Even for those whose homes stayed upright,
the damage is extensive and many units are totaled.
Water came up approximately four and a half, five feet.
From the ground, about two
and a half to three feet on the on the actual rig itself.
On Monday, Governor Hobbs issued a state
of emergency statewide due to the flooding,
freeing up $200,000 in relief funds.
Residents are leaning on the Red Cross and local churches
for basics, but the strongest support is coming from neighbors.
The young man that went in and got my wallet.
He had to dig through two feet of water, two feet of mud.
Community really came together.
People are helping each other.
You know, everybody's getting by.
It's just unbelievable, the generosity of our community.
And the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says
that all evacuations have been lifted,
but only people that live in those areas
and emergency services are allowed back in those areas.
