Unfortunately, he was born with a birth defect that left both his back legs unable to function properly, and when he arrived at a veterinary clinic, his future was uncertain. But, veterinarian Dr. Len Lucero decided that Chris deserved a second chance at life, so he took him home and became his owner. Dr. Lucero wanted to find a way for Chris to move around independently, and that's when he came up with a pretty unusual solution. Using his son's K'nex building toys, he constructed a tiny wheelchair specifically for Chris, and now the little pig was finally able to move around using his front legs while his new wheels supported his back, and surprisingly, it worked really well. Dr. Lucero eventually shared a video of Chris using his homemade wheelchair online, And people absolutely loved him. His story spread across the internet, attracting attention from news organizations and millions of viewers. He also inspired a book called Crispy Bacon, My Life So Far. But speaking of that, where is Crispy Bacon now? Chris P. Bacon was recently featured on PBS's Nature series, and his viewers got to see how far he had come since his first homemade wheelchair. But as of 2026, not much is known about Chris P. Bacon, but he is reportedly still alive. We do know that Chris P. Bacon just turned 14, and hopefully he'll have many more years to come. This is 19 year old Kevin Hines, and he's only alive today because a sea The sea lions saved him from committing suicide. Today, I'll be diving into the story and I'll be showing you the insane miracle that changed the country forever. Kevin Hines was a 19-year-old boy from San Francisco and he struggled with severe depression. One morning, he decided he had had enough and was going to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. But what caused him to do this? Well, as a child, Kevin Hines grew up in San Francisco and he struggled as a child. During his teenage years, he began experiencing severe depression, paranoia, and disturbing voices that affected the way he saw himself and the world around him. On September 25th in the year 2000, Kevin had had enough, so that morning he made his way to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. While Kevin was deciding if he was going to jump or not, there was an unexpected guest waiting in the water below him. Kevin was hoping someone would come up to him and ask if he was okay, just something to make him not jump, but that didn't happen, and after a few minutes, Kevin made the decision that would change his life, he decided to jump off the bridge. Kevin fell more than 200 feet below hitting the water, and the impact caused catastrophic injuries. But something happened that Kevin would never forget. Almost immediately after jumping, he experienced intense regret. Kevin suddenly understood that he wanted another chance, but now he was injured and surrounded by water, desperately trying to survive. Despite his injuries, he managed to get his head above the water, and he later described praying A woman who witnessed the incident contacted someone she knew and begging for another chance at life. who was serving in the Coast Guard, and that connection helped bring rescuers to Kevin, but there was another part of the story that Kevin would later describe as unbelievable. While struggling to stay afloat, he felt something repeatedly moving underneath him, and it turned out to be a sea lion. The problem was his life alert was charging in another room and although his cell phone was nearby it was sitting on the bathroom counter just out of Ron's reach. After about 16 hours had passed Ron was beginning to accept his fate, he wasn't going to survive. But then he realized his cat was in the bathroom with him. And eventually, Ron realized that Fluffy might be his only chance to get help. So, Ron called out to him. He said, ring-a-ding, Fluffy. Then he added, you're my only hope. What happens next sounds almost unbelievable. According to Ron, less than five minutes later, he felt something hit his hand. It was his cell phone, and somehow Fluffy had gotten the phone down to him. Now Ron could finally reach it. He was able to call 911 and get help, and because of that phone, Ron was rescued. Once the reality of the incident truly sank in, he couldn't stop thinking about what might have happened if Fluffy hadn't been there. Ron vowed he will never leave his cat Fluffy's side until the day he dies, and if Fluffy sticks around that long, it might be a good while. What makes this story so incredible is that Fluffy wasn't a trained rescue animal, he was simply a cat who had been listening to his owner. The story spread like wildfire, and pretty soon almost every news outlet in the area was covering the fact that this man had been saved by his cat. This is Pumpkin the cat, and she's become a viral internet sensation, gaining millions and millions of views. And this 20-pound cat had such a heartbreaking backstory, and the end is so heartwarming, so be sure to stay around to the end. See, Pumpkin is an orange cat who arrived at SPCA Cincinnati in March of 2026 after her owner passed away. She was around 5 years old, and her situation was concerning. Pumpkin weighed approximately 25 pounds, and her weight made it difficult for her to move around comfortably. She also had fleas, and her breathing was a big concern. But despite everything she was going through, there was something about Pumpkin that immediately caught the attention of the shelter's president and CEO, Chris Seelbach. And that was her eyes. See, Pumpkin had an incredibly expressive face, and even though she wasn't very vocal, she seemed to communicate so much just by looking at people. Chris decided that Pumpkin deserved a chance at a better life, and that's And that's when he made a decision that would change everything. Chris decided to bring Pumpkin into his home as a foster cat. The plan was simple, give her a safe place to stay, help her become healthier, and then eventually find a permanent home. But Pumpkin wasn't the only cat living there, she would also have to adjust to three other cats named Jerry, Doe, and Dottie. At first, she couldn't do many of the things other cats could easily manage. Jumping onto furniture was difficult, and she couldn't navigate the stairs like the other cats. Instead, she spent much of her time resting in her cat bed while adjusting to a carefully managed diet. As time passed, Pumpkin began making progress. With a healthier diet and care from her new family, her coat became shinier, and she became more comfortable moving around. She had nearly lost three pounds, and she even managed to climb on the couch to relax with the other cats.
