Louisville, Kentucky has caved to President Trump and will no longer claim Sanctuary City status. That is correct, folks. It's not going to work out for those that continue to claim Sanctuary City status. Those are going to be the cities that are flooded with more Border Patrol and ICE than any others. Let's listen to exactly what happened from the mayor of Louisville, Kentucky. The city of Louisville, my home of Louisville, is dropping its sanctuary city policies as a result of a warning letter that was sent over to the mayor from the attorney general's office. She sent the letter. The reaction came this morning. Attorney General Bondi says this should set an example to other cities. Instead of forcing us to sue you, you should just follow the law, get rid of sanctuary policies, and work with us to fix the illegal immigration crisis. But I want you to listen to what happens when you get a president and an attorney general who are serious about enforcing immigration laws in our country. Listen to the mayor of Louisville, Craig Greenberg, who is a Democrat. Bowing to pressure from Trump and Bondi on immigration enforcement in Louisville's jails. The Trump administration published a list of sanctuary cities. Louisville was on that list. We've all seen what the federal government is doing in sanctuary cities, including mass raids and sending in the National Guard. On June 25th, I received a letter from the U.S. Assistant Attorney General of the Department of Justice and Civil Division. The letter stated, That the Trump administration aimed Louisville to be a sanctuary city because we are in violation of federal law for not holding inmates in custody at our jail for up to 48 hours on what are called immigration. A detainer is a federal document that asks a jail to hold a specific inmate who is already in custody for a crime and is also unlawfully present in the United States. To hold that individual for extra time, to allow the federal government to take custody of that inmate. The Assistant Attorney General also stated that Louisville's current practice violates federal law. When federal law conflicts with state or local laws, federal law governs. I've been assured by the United States Department of Justice that if we reinstate the 48-hour detainers for inmates who've been arrested for crime, Louisville will take it off. Folks, elections have consequences. That is the Democrat mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, Craig Greenberg, announcing that after getting a letter from the Trump Department of Justice, They're changing their policy to no longer be a sanctuary city. Now, why is Craig Greenberg doing this? Well, for one thing, remaining on the sanctuary city list could have, would have cost Louisville hundreds of millions of dollars in federal grants. Elections have consequences. City of Louisville, Democrat mayor, bends the knee. Six months of Trump, border crossings are virtually nothing. Deportations are up and now cities, like Louisville, are starting to change. To change their tune, and they may be the first, but they will not be the last. I foresee most all of the sanctuary cities. Changing their tune as federal funds are withheld from their coffers. With that said, folks, let's clean America up. God bless.
