Inside Ashley Moody's Election Night watch party

Let's check in with Fox 13's Kylie Jones, who joins us live from Ashley Moody's election night party. Kylie, how are things going there? Polls are closed. Votes are starting to come in really quickly. Again, this is going to be likely one of those races, as a lot of people expected, that might take a little longer to determine a winner with. A lot of races are already being called. It hasn't even been an hour since the polls have closed, but a lot of people did anticipate this potentially taking a little bit more time. And actually, if you want to take a look, we're in commercial right now, but a lot of people have their eyes on the polls. Huge crowd we've got going on here. This is actually Moody's stopping ground Senator Moody is from Hillsborough County, she is from Plant City, so you can just see the support that she has right now at her watch party here in Tampa back home. Prior to serving as U.S. Senator, she served as the Attorney General of Florida for several years from 2019 to 2025. In January of last year, she was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to U.S. Senate. She replaced the former Senator Marco Rubio, who resigned to take over as Secretary of State. So she has only been in the seat at in the Senate seat for about About two years now, she is hoping to hang on to that seat, but this will be the first time that she has to earn the voters support and win this election to maintain her seat in the Senate and carry out the rest of this term. And we have seen support for both Moody and her opponent, Representative Angie Nixon across the state. So that is why this is one of those races to watch not only here in Florida, but nationwide.
