In the meantime, I want to get back to the forecast here
because, again, we have some showers.
We have a beautiful sunset right around this time, we typically see.
So let's go over to Ramesha for another update
on what's happening there outside because, again, I can see some
of the radar there saying there's some rain coming down right now.
Yeah, we've still got some rain close to the coast,
right along the coast, down around Galveston.
You're getting hit pretty hard.
But like I said earlier, if you're in Houston or Northwest,
things are rapidly improving and drying out.
Here's the Election Day cold front starting to push east of our area.
But you can see up towards Memphis,
Moving up into the Windy City of Chicago,
this front causing some slowdowns for folks
maybe getting off work,
trying to get out there to vote before the polls close.
For us, if you are in Liberty all the way down to Galveston,
even in Baytown, League
City, there are still some showers,
but those showers are still fairly heavy for you in
Liberty and Galveston,
so make sure that you're extra careful out on the roads.
Farther to the south and west,
we do have more of these heavy downpours,
not really seeing any lightning with this, but if you're in Freeport,
there's definitely going to be the potential for more
of that heavy rain for at least the next 30 minutes to an hour.
This is right around Highway 288 Angleton.
You're getting in on some of those showers as well.
I know a lot of you were not looking forward to the
Storm threat, the messy weather for Election Day.
It wasn't too crazy.
We didn't get any tornado warnings or severe thunderstorm warnings,
but some of you did pick up some decent rain,
anywhere from one to one and a half inches
of rain showing up for Jersey Village,
Pasadena, Baytown, LaPorte, Liberty,
but around a quarter of an inch
or less for Houston and for the Woodlands.
So some of you got quite a bit.
Some of you didn't get much at all.
But we will be drying out, I think,
by 7 p.m. for everyone, including our coastal spots.
As this front rolls east, that means lots of sun for Wednesday
with very low humidity, and it looks like our next system
will hold off until Thursday, and likely Thursday evening,
Thursday night, before those showers make a comeback.
You can see the traffic is super thick around the Galleria area
for 610 Southwest Freeway.
It is the evening rush, and it is the Election Day evening rush,
and you need to be careful out there because it looks like
a lot of these cars are barely moving, but at least the streets
are drying up, so you won't have to worry.
about at least any heavy rain coming down over Houston right now.
Temperatures are in the low 70s.
That wind has shifted from the south to the north.
So of course that indicates that front has made it through the area.
And I'm sure you can notice that as well for Houston, Tomball,
Conroe temperatures several degrees cooler already than they
were at this time yesterday. So you can see that.
Cold front pushing east.
We're already down to the 50s for Amarillo, 55 for Denver.
So that cooler air is gradually going to spill in for tonight
and tomorrow morning.
All right, let's track this front with our high-resolution Futurecast.
Notice by 7 p.m. there are still one or two showers just offshore.
I think most of that is out of here going into the late-night hours.
We're drying out.
We're cooling off.
And I think you will want to find a reason to get outside tomorrow.
It's going to be absolutely gorgeous.
Check this out. We're into the upper 50s by 5 to 6
a.m. We're into the 70s for the next three afternoons.
Plenty of sunshine expected for tomorrow. And by Thursday evening,
models are indicating another little disturbance,
another quick mover that will bring us some evening showers.
But even on Thursday, I think most of the day is dry.
And then we'll have a few more showers
that may mess with you for your weekend plans.
