Meeting House in Tampa

Hi there, I'm Charlie Belcher coming to you from South Tampa today, corner of Howard and Bristol, South Howard, West Bristol that is where you'll find a brand new concept Brand new place to eat that is paying homage to a place that started in 1947. So it's new, but there's an asterisk there a little bit. It's called Meeting House. Jason Brunetti is here to tell us. So the old Meeting House, yep, you lived in Tampa for a while. Yeah, you remember old Meeting House. Oh, yeah. Opened in 1947. Jim Strickland. Lasted until 2003. Yeah, 2003. You and your restaurant group. Yep, G.J. Restaurant Group. Opened Daily Eats. Yep. It's here for 20 years. 2006, we opened Daily Eats. Yeah. And we just closed Daily Eats in 2026 and reopened Meeting House in August of 2026. So kind of an homage, a tip of the cap to the original. Yep. But a diner not like what was around in 1947. No, modern. This is a modern age diner. So, you know, a lot of great diner-type foods, burgers, smash burgers, but 100% grass-fed. You know, we hand cut and prepare our own french fries, you know, biocircular eggs from a special farm that's only one in the country, that kind of thing. But when you start talking like that, it sounds maybe intimidating or expensive, but you're still trying to keep it that diner's sort of feel. I mean, yeah, we're in South Tampa, but don't be intimidated by those words you're throwing out there. Absolutely not. I mean, obviously, all of the CRG brands are... Focused on quality, but affordability, right? Every one of our brands. Lunch and dinner here. Lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner. Dinner a big deal here. So tell me through the menu, I mean, you gave me kind of highlights, but give me a sense of how the menu is now and how you might see it evolving. So, the menu, we do have, so the menu is a lot of burgers, we have an unbelievable meatloaf sandwich, we have burger bowls, we have, you know, fish, we have everything on the menu that we try to cater to almost everybody. You're doing brunch on weekends. Yeah, yeah. That's a big deal. 9 a.m. brunch on Saturday and Sunday. And Old Meeting House was known for its ice cream, so a little homage to that for some milkshakes. Yeah, yeah, so our friend Alfred owns Small Batch Creamery, which, in my opinion, is the best. Ice cream in Tampa Bay. So he makes our ice cream for us for our milkshakes. So kind of like, you know, Jim Strickland had his house-made ice cream. Well, we have our ice cream as well. When are you open? I know it's lunch and dinner during the week. Tuesdays. Tuesday, okay. To Fridays, 11 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Saturdays and Sunday, 8.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Brunch, lunch, dinner, Saturday, Sunday. There is an original menu from Strickland's old meeting house. So you just do that. Take out the old, and it's Meeting House.
