It's Benzinga, bringing Wall Street to Main Street.
Institutional investors are pushing for a lower valuation
in Anthropic's upcoming initial public offering following last week's
technology stock sell-off, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Investors are now targeting a valuation between $1.5 trillion
and $1.6 trillion, down from earlier discussions near $2 trillion.
Concerns include volatile markets, overexposure to AI investments,
political opposition to data centers, and uncertainty over
when major technology companies will see AI-related profits.
Anthropic has yet to finalize its IPO valuation or share offering,
while some investors have pushed for a valuation closer
to $1.5 trillion, according to The Information and Reuters.
Anthropic plans to begin its investor roadshow as soon as next week,
with its stock market debut expected before Thanksgiving.
Other companies considering IPOs
are watching Anthropic's performance before moving forward.
