Qatar remains hopeful the US and Iran can reach a deal
Nov 3, 2026
Our delegation was in Tehran last night
and a meeting that was supposed to take one hour
took three hours in positive consideration
of all the ideas that we are bringing to the
table to bridge the gap between the parties
when it comes to our mediation and in the
hopes of reaching a deal that would end escalation in the region.
We remain hopeful.
That there is still a chance for a deal to take place and to set
the environment for future negotiations, more sustainable negotiations
on sustainable resolution to the crisis in our region.
Both sides have shown commitment
to the diplomatic path through engaging with us and others in
the region, and we are working very closely
with our neighbors here in the region and
our partners internationally almost
on an hourly basis to exchange ideas, and every
country is playing its role to reach a positive end to this crisis.
And, of course, any escalation that happens in the region.
On the ground, in any mediation that we have undertook
in the past has always brought a new layer of complexity to the talks,
but we are hopeful that through the continued engagement
that is happening in the past couple of days, including
the meeting that was concluded last night, that we have assured
the commitment of both sides to the diplomatic process.
