Our other big story this morning, of course, is the fact that it
is Election Day and the polls have officially just opened.
Voting hours run until 8 o'clock tonight, so you have 13 hours to vote.
Now, if you are still in line at 8 o'clock, stay where you are.
Don't get out because you can still cast
your ballot if you are in line by 8.
Also, make sure that you have a photo ID with you. We are a photo op.
photo ID state. And if you have not registered just yet,
you can certainly still do so at your
polling place. Just bring proof of residence like a utility bill.
And as voters prepare to hit the
polls, so are the leading candidates for governor.
Democratic candidate David Crowley is expected to
vote at Milwaukee's German immersion school shortly after
the polls open, which they just
did. Republican candidate Tom Tiffany will be voting in Wausau.
Andrew Amuzo is live in Milwaukee
As the polls have just opened.
Good morning, Andrew.
Good morning, Derica. You can see the signs are already out.
We are right outside the Milwaukee
German Immersion School and even the doors have just opened as well.
We saw that there was a
long line getting into it just minutes before it opened
and then of course once the clock hit
seven they were all able to start going into the school.
Now we are hoping to get inside there.
Very shortly here, but of course, as you mentioned,
David Crowley will be voting here
and that Tom Tiffany will be in Wausau,
but leading up to this, there's a lot of information
in regards to, of course, what they are for,
what they are against, but also here's some
background information about how each of these candidates
or their journeys, their political
journeys leading up to this very point,
starting with a Democratic candidate, David Crowley.
Of course, he is currently serving
as Milwaukee's county executive, and he's been in this role
In 2020, he is endorsed by Governor Tony Evers.
He was also elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 2016.
As for Tom Tiffany, he represents
Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District.
He was elected to that seat in 2020 as well.
Previously, he served in Wisconsin's Assembly and the Wisconsin Senate.
He has the backing of President Donald Trump.
Now, as for the final Marquette Law School poll,
especially ahead of this election day,
Crowley is leading Tiffany 51% to 44% among likely voters.
It is important to mention that there
is that 4% number for those who are still undecided.
Monday marked a busy day for both candidates
as they made their final stops across the state.
Here's what they had to say about what they
are focusing on as they wrapped up.
We just want to continue to make the case
about how we're going to tackle affordability,
how we're going to be working for hardworking
families all across the state of Wisconsin,
which is a stark contrast.
And it comes down to Congressman Tom Tiffany,
who's focusing on doing the bidding of Donald
Trump and his billionaire backers.
I think at the end of the day, they're going to come out
and vote, and I think we've given
them a compelling message to do that.
We are going to make our state more affordable,
we're going to make state government more
accountable, and we're going to bring
a dose of common sense to Madison.
And the Wisconsin Election Commission said that Crowley
and Tiffany are going to be joined by millions
and millions of people participating in this election season.
Polls will be open, as you guys mentioned earlier,
from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., making sure you get
in line before 8 p.m. so that you can still have your vote counted,
making sure you have all the correct documents as well.
You can find that information on Fox6Now.com and on MyVoteWisconsin.
Back to you in the studio.
All right, Andrew Boozer, thank you very much.
We'll check back in just a little bit.
