Like we just said, the polls, as we speak, are now open.
Libby Farrow joins us live.
So Libby, what do voters need to know
before they head to the polls this morning?
Good morning, Katie and Dave.
We actually saw people lining up around 630 and there was
a line of them, but once the doors opened at seven,
they all went in. So they're inside right
now. And to answer your question about if you can have coffee
or not, you can take it with you in
line, but you cannot take it with you inside of the polls.
But a fun fact, Friday, October 30th,
over 427,000 people voted early here in Travis County.
And that's according to the Travis County
That's a .2% down from 2018, but a 10% higher.
Higher than 2022. So the polls are going
to stay open until 7 p.m. tonight. And as long as you get
in line by 7, you will be able to cast your ballot.
That being said, make sure you bring
some form of ID. You can bring your driver's license,
a personal ID, or even your...
Handgun license now also per state law they each
each polling location needs to have a designated
pull up and park. So if you are disabled or you have an injury,
you can also cast your ballot
from the parking lot. They will come out to you
and do that and make sure you're in line of course.
I mean, not ballots, polling locations, they opened literally at 7 a.m.
They're going to be open until 7 p.m.
So make sure you get in line, cast that vote.
And if you aren't sure as to who you should vote for or what to bring,
you can go to votetravis.gov for all the latest information.
For now, reporting live, Libby Farrow, Fox 7 Austin News.
