Good morning. Welcome to your Tuesday.
I'm meteorologist Cody Mattson. Look at that forecast.
Looking at rainfall totals into real early Tuesday morning.
Check them out. Some solid numbers. One to two plus inches,
especially west and north of the Brainerd Lakes area.
Two plusers widespread north of Duluth. For the Metro, it's
been a half inch to mostly three quarters of an inch in a lot of spots
and a little less quarter to a half inch in southeastern Minnesota.
We're going to be adding to all of these numbers over
the next 48 hours. I won't say double the numbers,
but could add another half inch to an inch plus.
for most of the state. So low number one scooting
by us off to the north and east.
Now we're waiting on low number two that's taking over.
We'll press into western Wisconsin by Wednesday.
Behind that system, the back edge is what we call a western side.
There's going to be a lot of moisture,
especially Tuesday night through Wednesday night.
We're in a bit of a lull at the moment,
but that doesn't necessarily mean we're going to be totally dry.
So here's a look at Futurecast. The next batch
of showers rolling through mostly southeastern Minnesota.
That will probably scrape the metro at some point.
late Tuesday morning or early Tuesday
afternoon and then that will spread
across portions of western Minnesota that we'll see some off
and on light rain. Well the rest of
us if it's not actively raining certainly going
to be damp some pockets of drizzle and mist and
then we'll just get more moisture to roll in from the south
and southeast and hang out as we head
through the day Wednesday as well.
Wednesday could be a pretty wet socked in soaker of a day.
Across a lot of the state,
especially areas west of the 35 corridor
before all that rotates through and
we finally start to dry out now.
Thursday morning still maybe some
leftover very light drips and then we
dry things up by the middle part of the day.
The cloud cover though will linger.
Will stay cloudy into Thursday.
We might actually squeeze some sun in here.
As we get into the day on Friday for Tuesday,
though, off and on pockets of light, in some cases,
moderate rain, but less so than what we saw on Monday.
Overall, the dreariness continues 60s across our eastern zones,
holding in the upper 50s in the metro 50s
for a lot of western and central Minnesota.
We fall a couple three degrees, but that's it.
Some pocket 40s to the west Tuesday night,
middle 50s here in the metro, close to 60 across our eastern zones
with scattered showers and then pretty socked in,
especially west of 35 corridor through the day on Wednesday.
We'll fall a couple three more degrees.
Low 50s as we head through Wednesday afternoon here in the metro,
40s appearing in southern and parts of western Minnesota.
Check out that seven day forecast finally drying out
once we get through the early morning hours on Thursday.
Cloud cover lingers with high of about 50.
Little patchy sun on Friday next the Clipper pushes through
on Saturday with a couple of light drips possible,
but turning warmer and brighter as we get
the latter part of the weekend into early next week.
