D'Amico Ryan's just said it loud
and clear as the head coach for the Houston Texans talked to
the media today and was able to give his key insights
into some of the Houston Texans struggles
that along with a player already back
on the practice field following a major injury.
What's up ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Texans Digest.
I'm your host as always, Isaac Estrada.
Man, we got a lot we need to talk about on today's episode.
D'Amico Ryans talked to the media today
and did say some very noticeable things.
That, along with the fact that we
already have a player back from injury.
That, along with some trade talks getting shot dead.
We're going to dive into all that and more today on Texans Digest.
But right before we do, man, you guys know the drill.
83% of you guys are not subscribed.
So if you're not already subscribed...
Do your boy a favor and hit that subscribe button.
You're going to be getting daily updates here on Texans Digest.
But without further ado, man, let's dive right into the news.
Starting off with the Jalen Knoll news that we all know.
Texans head coach D'Amico Ryans addresses Jalen Knoll injury.
Five receivers, one spot suddenly open.
So we know that Jalen obviously dealing
with that turf toe out for the season.
That's one of the only times you will ever see
a turf toe injury go out for the season.
Obviously, our prayers go up to him.
He was becoming one of the sneaky, good wide receivers on this team.
The speedy Gonzalez that we really needed.
And now he is out.
D'Amico Ryans, when talking to media today, had this to say.
We still have five good receivers that we feel like on our roster.
We feel like they can all provide some explosive plays for us.
We'll miss JNOL.
But we know other guys have to step up.
So he's absolutely right about that.
And that's something that we talked about a lot on this channel
is who is going to step up now that Jalen is injured.
I've been talking to you guys a lot about it before.
I think Tank Dell coming back at this time has been perfect.
Not perfect in the sense of Jalen getting injured,
but just perfect in the sense of, hey, we lose a really speedy guy
and then we get a really speedy guy back.
I think that that, oh, thank goodness that that happened.
missing both of those guys a lot of speed would
be missing from that wide receiver
room so it is good to see Tank Dell back
but as always I want to leave it up to you guys you guys
know the drill this is a democracy over here on Texans Digest
but who has to step up with
Jalen being out is it Nico Collins
is it Tank Dell is it Marvin Harrison Jr. or
is it somebody else we can talk about Kayshawn Booty
but I think in terms of that
That explosive wide receiver who can beat anyone on the field
who is the speedy Gonzalez that we
need. I don't think that that's going to fall
into the hands of Keyshawn Moody. But as always,
let me know what you guys think. Keyshawn
is obviously that guy who the reason why we traded
for him is because he has such a lack of separation.
And yet he's still able to haul
in these incredible passes. I think that is where he thrives
the most in terms of getting separation
the same way Jalen did. I think the guy
who's going to suit us the most is Tank Dell. Obviously,
let me know what you guys think below in the comments. But
Missing our guy is going to hurt.
It really felt like he was popping off,
but we've talked about it enough here on the channel
about how he keeps on,
or about how sad we are that he's hurt.
But either way, as always,
I want to know what you guys think.
But without further ado, man,
we're going to be rolling.
We got so much news to talk about.
We can't stay on one thing.
So off to the next one,
this one concerning D'Amico Ryans.
Ryan's admits Texans too heavy run in jumbo package.
So this is all something we know.
I can already smell it.
I can already smell it.
Already smell the comments telling me,
hey, we already know this.
You're preaching to the choir.
I get that.
But having D'Amico Ryan's recognize it
specifically in the jumbo package,
not just say, hey, our offensive line isn't that good.
Our run game isn't that good.
Having him specifically go in,
I think is worth bringing up.
So D'Amico Ryan's, when talking to the media,
acknowledged the Texans are too heavy.
We are two.
Too run heavy when they're in the jumbo package.
He said they need to work to adjust that.
Absolutely.
They're absolutely too run heavy.
And something that we talk a lot about is,
again, I'm going to emphasize, nothing against
Woody Marks.
I just don't think he's the running back RB1,
clear RB1 of the future over the course of
the next three to five years.
I've made that very clear on this channel.
And actually, I took a look at the comments in the last video.
A lot of you guys are starting to sway your opinions,
starting to say, oh, okay, you know,
maybe, maybe this guy's right.
Don't switch up now.
No, I'm playing.
Switch up.
I completely agree with this. Obviously,
the jumbo package when you're running it is clearly not working.
We talk about it a lot that Woody Marks on third
and short hasn't been able to get the job done. You leave it
into the hands of C.J. Stroud in the last game against Jacksonville.
So we talk a lot about those kind of things.
And now seeing D'Amico Ryans speak up on it,
obviously, is something you would love to see.
So, that is always good to see.
But, we gotta dive into more news, man.
We got so much news today, we gotta dive into the next one.
So, right into the next one.
This one is some good news.
Blake Fisker, back at practice after the thumb injury.
So, this one was surprising.
This one was very surprising to me.
The reason why I say that,
usually whenever you get surgery on your thumb,
that's like, you're out for the season.
You're out for at least eight weeks.
I thought, you know...
If by some miracle Houston can make it back to the playoffs,
maybe we will see this guy
then.
No, absolutely not.
He's already back on the field following this.
So we got this one from Aaron Wilson,
obviously Aaron Wilson, the most reliable source for
all your Houston Texans news outside of me, of course.
But although Texans offensive tackle Blake Fisker has thumb surgery
for un-nor-collateral
ligament injury.
Wow.
I'm a journalism major, not a...
Not a whatever this is major.
He is back to practice this week, heading into the Chargers game.
So that is obviously great news.
Having surgery on your thumb, no matter what kind of surgery it is,
you're looking at multiple games missed at minimum.
We saw him in the cast this week against the Giants.
He obviously, he tore it against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
And then last week we saw him in the cast.
Typically, you see a guy in the cast, you see him with the crutches,
you see whatever you're seeing.
You didn't see him with crutches.
But typically when you see a guy with some kind
of support on his arms or legs or ligaments.
You immediately are like, we're not going
to see that guy for a long time.
No, Fischer's a different breed.
Fischer's a different breed, man.
He's a different breed.
So he's already headed back to practice following that injury.
Already back at practice.
He might play against the Chargers, man,
and we need it because we constantly talk about
how that offensive line has struggled.
So having him back on the offensive
line will dramatically help this team.
Into the last news, we got one more thing we need to talk about.
And obviously, some people are a little bit sour on this,
but it's still worth bringing
up.
So without further ado, the last news of the day.
Texans not shopping Jadavian Clowney ahead of the trade deadlines.
Deadlines noise, not a real trade market.
And this is something that I thought a lot about, man.
I thought constantly about, you know,
obviously we talk about trading Jadavian Clowney.
I didn't think it was worth it because
at that point you're just trading away a guy
who wants to be a Houston, a Houston loved fan favorite.
You're just going to trade him away
for what a fifth round pick at best.
I don't think Jadavian Clowney's market is very high.
Obviously, if it was a lot higher, if he all
of a sudden had a breakout year and he was
Stronger than ever, just like he was in his first stint with Houston.
I think that'd be a different story, but he's not.
Unfortunately, he is not.
I don't think it'd be worth trading him.
We're getting closer to the trade deadline.
Everyone's talking about who are the Houston Texans going to trade for?
Depending on how the season goes, man, you
might not trade for anybody and you might
head into the NFL offseason making some massive changes,
maybe making some trades then.
You never know.
But I agree that this is not the time to trade Jadavian Clowney.
And obviously, we got the news about it.
This one, once again, coming from your boy, Aaron Wilson.
Texans aren't actively shopping three-time
Pro Bowl edge Jadavian Clowney per a league
source.
And he isn't seeking a trade.
Obviously, we know that.
Jadavion Clowney came back to Houston for a reason.
He loves it here.
Simply, the usual process of NFL teams checking
on several proven players.
Potential availability headed into the trade deadline.
So, we knew that to be true, man.
We know that to be true.
Obviously, we talk about it so much over here.
But Jadavion Clowney, at this point of his career, man,
he just wants to have fun and try to go out there and win a ring.
We know that.
We know he's not going to be the difference maker
in terms of the guys that we talk about.
Just like the guys we talk about,
just like Daniil Hunter, just like the guys we talk
about with Will Anderson Jr., he's no longer that player.
We know that.
But what we like about Jadavion Clowney
is he can still come on the team and every once
in a while get you a pop play and you're like, ah, there's our guy.
There is our guy.
So Jadavion Clowney this season, obviously you can see it right here.
Not anything crazy, not anything amazing,
but obviously he's still always a help to
this team.
We'll put it here on the big screen, on the bigger screen.
So Jadavion Clowney this year,
obviously first time on Houston since 2018, but
In five games, he had nine tackles, five solo tackles,
four assisted, and 1.5 sacks on the
season. Not bad at all from Jadavion.
Obviously, you love to see that. So not bad at all, but I
think, you know, kind of like we talked about,
he's already at the point of his career where he's
He's here to have fun, man.
He's here to have fun.
He's here to win.
We've talked about it before.
He's played five games this season.
Five games this season.
He's missed two with knee injuries.
We've talked about it.
We said, hey, sit him out.
He's at that point of his career
where he doesn't need to start every single game.
So it's not a bad thing to sit him out.
So obviously, you hate to see him
being in the talk of trade talks
because a lot of us love Jadavion Clowney,
but a lot of us are saying,
hey, whatever we can get, if we can get...
If we can get a bag of chips for Jadavion Clowney, we'll do it.
And I don't kind of like that.
I don't like that kind of mentality.
Let Jadavion Clowney stay here on his terms.
Obviously, Houston loves him.
He loves Houston.
So you'll love to see that.
But that is all the news we talked about today on Texans Digest.
We covered so much.
So as always, I appreciate you guys for watching.
