ICE Arrests More Than 230 Illegal Aliens in 72-Hour, 15-State Trucking Crackdown

I wanted to highlight an operation that we just finished with 15 different states. It was called Operation Guardian. It was a 72-hour, 15-state operation targeting illegal aliens with unauthorized CDLs and public safety threats in the trucking industry. Now, we've all sat here and talked multiple times about the danger that we have when you have states like California and New York that issue CDLs to individuals that are not qualified to drive. I don't know why it's even controversial to be having this conversation. I don't know why this is something that we have to continue to do. It should be really simple for these states to be able to revoke these driver's licenses that they issued and tens of thousands of them. The other trucking companies out there that want to do everything they can to create disruption in the industry, hire illegals, run down the rates of actual legal drivers. They don't actually pay the insurance. You take them off the road, they simply change the DOT number on the side of the truck, change the names, and they're back on the road the next day. They absolutely wreak havoc on actually companies that are doing it right. And what we're trying to do through the Department of Homeland Security, our partners with state, local officials, is we're trying to restore law and order again. We're trying to take these unsafe drivers off the road.
