Could All Four NFC North Teams Make the Postseason?

Call me crazy, but I see every team
in the NFC North right now making the postseason.
Whoever wins or whatever the hell it
is that's going to win out of the NFC South,
that's all you're getting, right?
Whatever wins out of the NFC East, that's all you're getting.
But judging from everything that I've seen here,
and this is why this game I think means a lot.
If the Bears win this game here tonight,
The 49ers are the only team you're going to get,
as far as I'm concerned, out of the West.
I think you can see for the first time in just craziness,
the Bears, Minnesota, Detroit, and Green Bay
all making the postseason
and just the division leaders in everything else.
We're at that point now as we get ready for Week 9 here where
that's the toughest division in football,
and it's not even close, Frank. It's not even close.
Yeah, and listen, to your credit, we talked about this last week.
I did not think, forget about winning the game,
I did not think the Lions could win that kind
of game that they won against Minnesota.
In fact, when Minnesota went up, I was like, ah, pretty typical.
They're going to win 17-13, something like that.
Detroit ended up scoring that late touchdown.
So Detroit is still my least favorite team
of them all, but to your point,
You know, Detroit in another division may
be the best team in another division in football.
It's just that this division is so good.
You know, I tend to think even if Seattle was to lose,
I would not rule them out.
So I don't know that I could go all the way there.
As far as the NFC East is, yes.
NFC South, yes.
But, it's possible,
but I'm not there quite yet on some of those other teams.
And the other thing you have to remember is it doesn't seem probable
that the Rams will win every game the rest of the season.
It doesn't seem probable that Seattle will too, but it can happen.
Until that's out, I can't rule it out.
But, Minnesota has banked already a ton of wins.
They play 500 ball the rest of the season they're in.
Bears are probably going to get in at some point somehow.
Packers are playing maybe the best football
of anybody right now in the division.
So Green Bay, you know, certainly in the mix as well.
And then Detroit, you know,
maybe they're at the bottom, but you're right, Joe.
Maybe 10 wins, you're in.
Maybe nine wins, you're in with Detroit.
I think that's the kind of team they are.
So it is.
Extraordinarily possible that that happens this season.
But I still think some time to go here.
And generally that Super Bowl champ does regress,
so Seattle probably is in for a regression.
But I guess what I would say
is after Seattle did what they did to Kansas City last week,
even if they were not to beat the Bears,
I still think Seattle's going to win a lot
of games between now and the end of the season.
So I don't want to just discount them.
Oh, no.
But it may not matter.
That's the all other point,
is that it may not matter here because the NFC North's already played.
Everyone's already played one another here a couple of times.
So, uh...
Green Bay's got a very interesting game against New England coming up
in Foxborough this Sunday.
And we just heard, I believe,
Micah Parsons is practicing all week long.
So they're going to get one of the best defensive players
in the NFL back on a defense that
call me crazy, Greg.
I mean, you mentioned maybe no team better than Green Bay,
but who's been better defensively
than them?
Sam, it's...
They can't run the ball.
And yet that defense has been just.
Unbelievable. And now you're going to get
the best player back on the defensive side of the ball.
I'm looking very forward to seeing what
and if New England can do anything against this defense,
even though they're at home, New England,
give them credit, tough place to play at Foxborough.
But I can't wait to see that game.
Yeah, New England is good. And you just saw them really.
come alive in the second half against Miami.
That game was probably a little bit closer than
people would have imagined too. Usually I'm on the dogs.
I did not think Miami was going to
cover that one. I thought New England would run it up
and then the weather factored in,
of course, and all those games in Florida,
of course, the game in Tampa, that factored in too.
But you're right. I think, look,
I don't know that anybody running the ball for Green Bay this season
is going to be successful just
because their offensive line looks to be pretty poor, but-
But, yeah.
They were throwing it all over the place.
I mean, you looked at the Packers in the past.
When did they ever have two great receivers and a tight end together?
You're going back to Super Bowl years with Rodgers and Favre.
And they're there right now.
This is the closest it's been.
I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
That is for sure.
I can't wait to see Micah Parsons back on the field for Green Bay.
I think a lot to be decided.
But I think a lot of it's going
to start here tonight between Chicago and Seattle.
