We did also have some crazy news over the weekend there, Craig,
as Mike Norvell is finally out at Florida State.
It wasn't a matter of if, it was really just a matter of when.
And they lost to, really, I mean,
a Clemson team they had no business losing to
after almost beating the number one team in the country.
And that was about all the administration there at Florida State could.
Now, what I find fascinating here is that the names they
are throwing out to be a possible successor.
Now, third biggest payout
of college football coaches that we have seen now.
Number one, of course, Jimbo Fisher.
Remember that, but it wasn't
when Jimbo was with Florida State, he was with Texas A&M.
The second happened last year with Brian Kelly.
They owe him $53 million still.
They'll be paying him forever.
And now coming in third, here he is, Mike Norvell,
just over $50 million in a payout here.
But the FSU hot board right now.
Has Jimbo Fishers at the top of the board,
and I cannot for the life of me,
is Jameis Winston making a lawsuit
to try to become college eligible again?
Like, what is Jimbo Fisher going to bring to the...
Now, granted, he probably has still a lot of connections here,
but you're not...
You can't bring back Jimbo Fisher.
There's no way you can do that and sell that to FSU.
I don't know.
It seems like that's what they want to do, Joe.
We've heard this for, like, months now.
I don't know.
It feels like it's happening.
He won a lot at FSU.
He won a lot.
He did, but the reason it didn't work at A&M
is because he refused to evolve as an X's and O's coach.
And his offense ran stale.
That was it.
Everyone caught up to it, and they couldn't win at Texas A&M.
Manny Diaz, former University
of Miami head coach there, is now at Duke.
His name is going on.
I think this guy, Jake Dickert at Wake Forest,
is having an unbelievable, outstanding head coach.
I think it would be fantastic.
Rhett Lashley, SMU is another name.
Eli Drinkwitz there at Missouri is another name.
But are you interviewing Dion?
If you're Florida State.
But Colorado's horrible, aren't they?
They're not doing well at all, are they?
Am I wrong?
Correct.
What sense would that make?
Because it's Deion and Florida State.
If you're bringing back Jimbo, then you're bringing back Deion.
Call me crazy, you're bringing back Deion.
I don't know.
Maybe it's just one that's course there.
Nah, Deion's never really proven anything at the college level.
I mean, Jimbo Fisher won.
I think four straight years of 11 wins
or 10 wins at Florida State.
Yeah, like he took Bobby Bowden.
Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
That's the way that I,
look, I don't know if they're going to hire him.
Maybe not.
Maybe you're right.
Maybe things have passed him up.
But I think that they'll end up
getting a really good coach
and I think that they'll return to being good again.
