We do a lot for animals, but in today's video,
I'll be showing you three times animals actually saved human lives.
These stories are truly insane,
so be sure to stick around to the end of the video.
Without further ado, let's get into story number one.
This is 19-year-old Kevin Hines, and he's only alive today
because a sea lion saved him from committing suicide.
Today, I'll be diving into the story and I'll be showing you
the insane miracle that changed the country forever.
Kevin Hines was a 19-year-old boy from San Francisco
and he struggled with severe depression.
One morning, he decided he had had enough
and was going to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
But what caused him to do this?
Well, as a child, Kevin Hines grew up in San Francisco
and he struggled as a child.
During his teenage years, he began experiencing severe depression,
paranoia, and disturbing voices that affected
the way he saw himself and the world around him.
On September 25th in the year 2000,
Kevin had had enough, so that morning he made his way to
the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
While Kevin was deciding if he was going to jump or not,
there was an unexpected guest waiting in the water below him.
Kevin was hoping someone would come up to him and ask if he was okay,
just something to make him not jump, but that didn't happen,
and after a few minutes, Kevin made the decision
that would change his life, he decided to jump off the bridge.
Kevin fell more than 200 feet below hitting the water
and the impact caused catastrophic injuries,
but something happened that Kevin would never forget.
Almost immediately after jumping he
experienced intense regret.
Kevin suddenly understood that he wanted another chance,
but now he was injured
and surrounded by water desperately trying to survive.
Despite his injuries, he managed to get his head above the water,
and he later described praying and begging for another chance at life.
A woman who witnessed the incident contacted someone she knew
who was serving in the Coast Guard,
and that connection helped bring rescuers to Kevin,
but there was another part of the story
that Kevin would later describe as unbelievable.
While struggling to stay afloat, he felt something
repeatedly moving underneath him, and it turned out to be a sea lion.
He believes the animal
helped keep him afloat while he waited for rescue,
and the story has attracted attention over the
Over the years, because of just how unusual this encounter was.
The sea lion kept him afloat long enough until rescuers came
and pulled him out of the water.
His injuries took months to heal, but once they finally did,
Kevin made a decision that would change his life
and so many others around him.
Having decided to share his story
and make it his life mission to save as many people as possible
from the same circumstances that once troubled him.
San Francisco even installed a safety net
on the Golden Gate Bridge in his honor to stop
as many people from making that same mistake.

When this dog snuck up on an unsuspecting boy and did the unthinkable,
it seemed like a family of five would
be living through a horrifying nightmare,
and the only thing that could save that family was their cat.
This is the incredible true story of Tara the cat.
It's a bright sunny day in 2014,
and a four-year-old named Jeremy is out riding his bike.
Outside with him is the family cat named Tara.
But in a few short minutes,
Tara will put her life on the line to save the child,
as the child rode through his driveway without a care in the world.
Jeremy's mother described she was outside at the time of the attack.
Little did she know, someone was watching
her child more closely than she was.
In a matter of seconds, the dog lunged on the boy and grabbed his leg.
In a matter of seconds, the bright sunny day had turned
into a mother's worst nightmare.
The dog began to pull the child off his bicycle,
and with no signs of stopping,
the boy clearly needed help.
The mother, noticing her child was crying out in pain,
began to run to the scene immediately.
However, she was not the only one watching the terrifying
scene unfold. Before she could get to her child,
the family cat Tara lunged at the dog,
giving the child enough time to wriggle free.
As Jeremy's mother got to the scene,
she could hardly believe what her eyes had just witnessed.
Their family cat Tara had just risked
her own life to save their four-year-old child.
The boy immediately got off his bicycle and ran to safety.
The family cat having a quicker reaction time than the boy's own mother
had most likely saved Jeremy's life that day.
Jeremy's father recalls looking
at the security surveillance camera with disbelief,
but he rewatched it over and over again.
He couldn't believe what he was seeing for the first time.
After watching the video surveillance clip over five times,
he noticed a detail they had missed.
The cat ran out to protect Jeremy.
Before chasing the dog away,
Jeremy's father noted that the cat Tara turned around to make
sure the mother was there, and then began chasing the dog further away.
This could have been Tara
the cat's motherly instincts,
or the fact she really cared about her family. I like to think
it's both, but whatever the reason,
Tara the cat was presented with the Hero Dog Award after putting
her life on the line to save a four-year-old child.
My arm was pinned under me.
And the hours kept going by.
So I said, Fluffy, ring-a-ding.
Ring-a-ding, Fluffy.
And I says, you're my only hope.
And he was.
It wasn't even five minutes later, I felt something in my hand.
And I'm here because of it.
In late June of 2020, Michigan Dispatch received
an alarming call from a man named Ron, but
the backstory is so incredible.
Ron was an older man living in Sturgis,
Michigan, and he had a cat named Fluffy.
Ron quickly became attached to him,
and the two spent a lot of time together, and Ron
would talk to Fluffy throughout the day like most pet owners do.
Whenever Ron's phone would ring,
he had a little habit, he would say, ring-a-ding,
and he never realized how important those words would become.
one morning Ron was getting out of the shower
when he suddenly slipped and fell
and he couldn't get back up, his arm was pinned underneath him
and he was stuck on the bathroom
floor, the problem was his Life Alert
was charging in another room and although his
cell phone was nearby it was sitting
on the bathroom counter just out of Ron's reach
after about 16 hours had passed, Ron was beginning
to accept his fate, he wasn't going to survive
But then he realized his cat was in the bathroom with him,
and eventually Ron realized that Fluffy
might be his only chance to get help,
so Ron called out to him. He said,
ring-a-ding Fluffy, then he added, you're my only hope.
What happens next sounds almost
unbelievable. According to Ron, less than five minutes later,
he felt something hit his hand.
It was his cell phone and somehow Fluffy had gotten
the phone down to him. Now Ron could
finally reach it. He was able to call 911 and get help
and because of that phone Ron was rescued.
Once the reality of the incident truly sank
in he couldn't stop thinking about what might have
happened if Fluffy hadn't been there.
Ron vowed he will never leave his cat Fluffy's side until
the day he dies and if Fluffy sticks around
that long it might be a good while. What makes this
story so incredible is that Fluffy wasn't
a trained rescue animal, he was simply a cat who
who had been listening to his owner.
The story spread like wildfire
and pretty soon almost every news outlet in the area
was covering the fact that this man had been saved by his cat.
