The speaker introduces the Propel Endeavor, a tilt-steer platform designed as a high-performance alternative to traditional mobility scooters. Facing nerve issues and the impracticality of heavy, unreliable scooters, the speaker highlights this device's superior speed, range, and portability for navigating campgrounds and varied terrain.
You got here just in time for a pop-up edition of Friday's Finds.
A big box just arrived!
I've been waiting. I've been waiting for this. I'm so excited.
Let me cut off. You don't need to see me cutting
the stuff. Let me get it open.
Now, if you follow the channel any length of time,
you know I got a little bit of a mobility,
a little hitch in my giddy up. It's gotten better in some ways,
it has gotten worse in others,
that nerve stuff is really starting to affect my hands.
And the mobility scooter thing has just,
it's no longer real practical because
it always breaks down it weighs 85 pounds we're
talking about sable here here it is in the shed
back home well like most storage buildings
this one's got a mess going on anyway in case you don't
know i have mobility issues
and for years i've relied on a mobility scooter and this is actually
This is actually my fourth, fifth mobility scooter.
This is a, it's a stand-up scooter.
The seat is more decorational than anything. I ride this
standing up when it works.
That's the second one of those models I've had. They all have the exact
same problem. I've got to rewire the whole thing again.
It breaks down. It weighs 80 pounds. It
takes up the whole back of the pickup.
I need another solution so I can keep creating these videos for you.
I tried that walking thing and those videos
No, I'm not.
and it hurts.
So the last time, last place I was camping, I saw a guy on a
and you all are going to go, dude, you just turned 60.
What do you think?
Meet the Propel Endeavor.
This is the third generation.
You could call this a skateboard, but this is not a skateboard.
This is a magic carpet right here.
It's a tilt-steer platform.
My mobility scooter had a range of maybe 12,
15 miles, if you're lucky.
And it had a top speed, or has a top speed, of about 21 miles an hour.
The e-bike will do 30 miles an hour.
They say, and I will never find out, but they say this thing has
got enough power to transport a human being at 45 miles an hour.
You're not going to find, on the other scooter,
I was happy at, you know, 12, 15 miles an hour.
So, if I get to 15 on this, and I've been practicing,
at 15 miles an hour, I'm comfortable.
They say this will go 40 miles an hour.
What impresses me.
Because I'm on like the fifth mobility device, fifth.
I've had five mobility scooters.
This has a range of 32 miles
with a 300 pound human being on it.
32 miles. It weighs 40 pounds.
It's almost all battery, two motors.
It does have a reverse function and four
Four speed functions and I have found that even
the number one speed provides enough torque to
climb the hills in front of my place.
Pneumatic tires that help and the whole look at this front
suspension these are four wheel independent suspension points.
Shocks for crying out loud.
It's a tilt steer, meaning you have to learn.
Fortunately, my balance hasn't been too affected with my nerve stuff.
Just my feet and my legs don't work like they should.
This is going to be the new campground tour machine.
And maybe at some point we'll be doing some trails with it.
But for right now, it's just to go around on the pavement
at a walking pace, 5 to 10 miles an hour.
I added a light kit to it.
That was an accessory that comes with it.
And believe it or not this even has a reverse gear on it.
All right, so now you've seen that
it works extremely well. I have all the protective gear.
You're going to see me wearing it because I
don't want to be hurt because I'm 60 years old.
I got to be real careful. The remote control
allows you to switch it into reverse
or go back to the forward and change gears. You just one,
One, two, three, we're in third gear.
a forward and a brake and there's actually you pull that back
and you tap the power button and
it puts a parking brake on so you don't have
to worry about stepping on it and have it roll off
i have found that it navigates a gravel driveway pretty good
but that's an experience riding it
i've seen videos of people using this on the beach
and on trails but as i said
We're going to use it for campground tours right now.
And as I become more competent, then maybe we'll look at other things.
But right now, we're going to go do some RV loop tours with it,
and I'll get some footage of me operating it here in Suto, in the park.
The camera does not do it justice.
We're going to climb that hill.
It's a long hill.
And with my mobility scooter, I would not be able to climb that.
I'd have to switch back up it.
I can't believe I rode that.
My driveway is is a slag.
It's a byproduct of steel making process and it's a very uniform shape
and it will roll from underneath your feet.
There's the bicycles can't navigate it because
we can't get traction.
If you park your car on it and start too fast you'll roll.
We just powered
right up that hill. Didn't even didn't even slow us down.
We climbed the hill at 10 miles an hour.
That's a hill right there.
My mobility scooter would
require assistance.
We'd have to switch back up this hill.
But
that
is,
this
is
a
really
pretty
little
park.
50-amp
site.
You know me, I couldn't help myself.
I had to go.
I had to go for a ride and I gotta tell ya,
I gotta tell ya, that is cool.
That is the coolest thing.
Now keep in mind it's got some power
and you gotta you gotta get your balance sorted out.
Fortunately I've been practicing a little bit.
That is easy. That one's not. This thing
it sticks to the road. It's got a reverse gear.
You put the brake on going down. You got to be
careful because this got a lot of brake.
Got a lot of torque. Got a lot of brake. I have I have yet
yet to find the surface we couldn't navigate.
We're going to go out and play with it. Let's get
So far I've got it in second gear.
I don't know if it has more than two gears.
You've seen
all the
campsites
here at
Dangerfield
State Park.
I do
appreciate
you
following
along.

Every park I've ever
documented is on that map.
I had some gear show up while I was out and about.
I'm taking the safety, safety is very important.
I'm very serious about
this safety stuff on this board.
Sometimes I'm gonna find myself on a longer trip.
Sometimes you're gonna have surprises.
I don't wanna have any surprises.
And I certainly don't wanna have to deal
with a whole lot of road rash and possibly broken bones.
So I have gone body armor.
I'm not real happy about the color coordination.
I'm gonna see about doing something about that,
but I got skid plates on the hands.
I got skid plates on both elbows, the back.
I'm not so much worried about the chest as I am the elbow,
shoulders, back, and knees.
So I've gone and found a good pair there.
I have some special shoes on the way also. So
I know y'all are worried about me.
I'm being very careful.
I'm taking this very serious.
So, I've visited, what, three,
four locations in two days.
I did two state parks.
And I've got to tell you,
this is the best mobility device that I've worked with, hands down.
Now, it's not going to be perfect for everybody,
but it's pretty perfect for me and my lifestyle.
That's my style.
I'm not an affiliate with this company,
so I'm entitled to say whatever I want to say.
If I signed a purchase contract with them and they decide they want
to pursue me for legal actions like that other company did,
I'm a consumer. Anyway, I'm going to tell you my stories.
And so far, I have been impressed. Out of the box,
this thing is doing more than I was led to believe it would do.
And I'll leave it at that.
So we're done with this edition of Friday's Finds.
I got to go work on next week's edition of Friday's Finds.
And get ready to go do some more traveling with Thorie.
We got stuff happening this fall and winter.
Come hang out with us in February.

Come see us in February at Lake Whitney State Park.
Actually, it'll be the end of January,
before the first weekend in February.
Anyway, I'm rambling.
Appreciate you watching.
If there's any links,
there will be links for the safety gear up there and down there.
If you're interested in safety gear for this kind of rig,
your kids, your grandkids may need some.
Your grandparents may need some.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
All right.
Appreciate you watching.
Y'all come back now, you hear?
