So what do you need to be prepared for today?
As you run out the door, our chief vet, Mike,
is going to walk you through the forecast.
I will. I shall do that. And so let's talk about the bus stop forecast
because although Sally pointed out there are a couple
of school districts that are out of session today,
which good for you, but the rest of everybody has to go to school.
Here we go. So the bus stop forecast looks like this.
We have some patchy, dense fog out there in a few spots,
enough that we are under a dense fog advisory
from the National Weather Service until 10 a.m. 70 degrees.
So it is not jacket weather out there this morning
and it won't be later today either. Eighty five degrees.
Warm and breezy.
So, of course, the sun comes up an hour early now,
so it's going to be a little unfamiliar
as you head out there on the roadways this morning.
But this is familiar.
The traffic backing up by the Galleria on the 610 West Loop.
Currently 70 degrees, mainly cloudy out there.
Now, there's no wind yet, but that wind is going to pick up
as a front approaches us from the west and from the northwest today.
That's going to increase our Gulf wind flow,
which means more humidity today.
And it also means we'll have winds coming in from the southeast
or south-southeast at about 15 miles an hour,
maybe a little bit more than that.
68 in Bush, 66 Tomball right now,
70 for Sugar Land, and 68 in Pear Land.
There's that dense fog advisory in effect.
across the area until 10 a.m.
Visibility is still near zero
in Bay City, near zero in Columbus,
only about a quarter of a mile
in Brenham.
Many locations around Houston
just have some low clouds
and maybe a little bit of mist,
but really not that much
in the way of fog
in the city of Houston right now.
Here's a look at the area
that's favored to see severe weather
over the next 24 hours.
And it looks like tonight
the Dallas-Fort Worth area
could see some.
Also, Austin heading into
very early tomorrow morning.
And then here's a look ahead
We'll head out tomorrow now in the background we have
the future cast running and you'll see the timing looks like it's going
to begin late morning and extend through the afternoon.
Here's the highest risk for some severe weather
and that does include Liberty Livingston and Beaumont.
And by the way, not just us, it is going to be a stormy election
day across places like Arkansas, parts of Missouri, parts of
Illinois as well, with some scattered
showers across Alabama and Georgia.
A warmer morning this morning gives way
to what's going to be a breezy, muggy day.
Rain chances are limited, so about 10 to 20 percent.
I put it at 20 percent rain chance.
I think we'll see some fast-moving, occasional,
really light showers, kind of drizzles.
Wouldn't even be surprised if we had a couple of those this morning,
although it's relatively quiet right now.
Low 70s overnight tonight, and then here comes some of that rain.
And when we talk about Election Day timing,
this is our graph computer model showing about midday.
So let's say it's about noon or 1 p.m. with some storms across
the area, maybe a couple of strong ones.
And then it moves toward the coastline
as we head toward 3.30 in the afternoon.
So it'll be mostly coastal areas during the late afternoon,
followed by some nice, drier, cooler air coming in.
We'll be up on Wednesday morning down to about 58 degrees
and then we'll have several days in the 70s. So that looks good.
