James Kaufman, World News Report Today. Jasmine Crockett compares ICE raids to slave patrols. Representative Jasmine Crockett has compared the work of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, to slave patrols. The Texas congresswoman made the remarks during an appearance on MSNBC on Sunday morning. She says policing in the U.S. started in the South. Now, I did not believe her and went into a deep dive, and she's 100% correct, believe it or not. Blew my mind. Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett, quote, As somebody who understands history, when I see ICE, I see slave patrols. Well, ICE is a bit different. They're deporting illegal aliens. But policing in the U.S. actually started as slave patrols in the southern states. That is a fact. If you understand the history of police in this country, then you understand that they were born out of slave patrols. But the police are largely not involved in the deportation. It's mostly federal agencies, i.e. ICE, Department of Homeland Security, etc. Let's listen to what she has to say. But as somebody who understands history, when I see ICE, I see slave patrols. Now, I never lived through the slave patrol period. But if you know the history of policing in this country, then you understand that they were born out of slave patrols. Now, again, 100% right blows my mind. With that said, I'm 100% in favor of deporting everyone that came to this country illegally. That is what I voted for. I don't care if they're a criminal, a rapist, a robber, a murderer. I think that they need to come legally like the rest of us all had, period. And I don't appreciate them coming over using our welfare services and leaving Americans that are in desperate need of those services, well, empty-handed. God bless.
