Urlacher, Hugo (1958) Argentina
Art sometimes awakens our sighs. And it opens our eyes and souls to new forms of beauty.
Hugo Urlacher's work is simply that. A breath of sighs that expand into colors. A dance where the small and the immense intertwine to be. Only the palette knife and the brush are of this world. There is no time there. The real and the desired are one. Blessed is he who allows himself to be swept away by such magic.
Hugo Urlacher is a visual artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1958. A descendant of German and Spanish immigrants, he dedicated himself to painting as a self-taught artist, beginning at the age of 24 with a motivation that was both simple and complex: to learn the craft of painting. Therefore, over at least 30 years of artistic work, his painting has undergone several modifications, reflecting the different stages of learning and experimentation he has reached, in order to find a more personal way of being an artist.
