Hi everyone, it's Deja with KnittingCrochetEverAfter.com.
Today we're doing the pop-in stitch stitch pattern,
and the pattern is below. I'm going to talk about
the sample after we do the stitches, so let's get started.
Okay, so for the pop-in stitch,
you're going to need multiples of 2 plus 1, so times it by 2,
the width you need, 2 stitches, and add 1, so I have 9 for this,
because it's really easy, so I don't think you need a lot of...
Just make sure you pay attention to what row you're on,
otherwise your stitches are going
to get wackadoodle cuz it's such an easy stitch pattern.
So it's a four row repeat.
The first row, we are knitting
and purling with the knit one at the end.
Back and forth, cuz this is all we're doing this entire pattern is back
and forth with the knitting and purling.
Easy pattern, but keep track of your rows.
So row two, we're going to do,
of course ending with a purl,
so you can kind
of read your stitches.
The pink is coming up in what you've got below, to be able to tell,
so we've got two rows of knits, two rows of purl so far.
So next, for row three, we're going to do the same
as row two. We're going to have purl.
So we're going to do the opposite this time, so that's going
to give us that kind of criss-crossy kind of stitch on there.
Purl one, knit one, purl one.
And then our whole row,
we're doing the same.
We're matching what we
have here, so it's knit one.
Kind of two of those matches.
Two rows matching the other way.
So you gotta kind of pay attention.
If you're really good at reading stitches, no problem.
If you're not keep track, because I do.
Because when I'm looking at this,
I'm like, oh, where am I at? I'm not sure.
But with the stitches, especially if you have variegated yarn like this,
which really makes it kind of difficult to see everything,
and I have the hook was larger,
so it gave it kind of a more lacy, open feeling, very drapey.
And that makes it harder to read those stitches as well.
If I'm doing it in this yarn,
it's a little easier to see where my knits and my purls are.
But once you get kind of wider, they get a little different.
I kind of like this kind of flatter look it has going on now.
And the yarn worked out really well.
It's kind of got a cool plaid pattern.
This is just some variegated cotton. Totally reversible.
Same on both sides, so great for a scarf.
Here's the poppin' stitch.
