Iran’s Foreign Minister speaks to Al Jazeera about US proposals

Well, here, one thing that he is giving the clarity is that, as of now, there are no plans for direct talks between Iranians and Americans. Just remember, in the last couple of days, there have been lots of speculations whether Americans are directly going to be present during the negotiations or not. And even in this morning, there were still some of the reports that Americans might travel to Doha to attend the ongoing talks between Qataris and Iranians. But now he's saying that there are no plans that... To meet the Americans at this stage and then say that the Iranian conditions are there, but the mediators have proposed the period of implementation to five days. However, at this stage that they have reached an agreement to limit the implementation period to two days. That is quite big because just if any announcement comes out of Doha today or tomorrow. Then the implementation period is going to be two days. That means it is going to be before the midterm elections in the United States. And that is something that could remarkably help the administration of Donald Trump. Another thing, we have seen that in the once letters that were sent to the Iranians, so they had one condition, and that condition was that Iranian nuclear file to be negotiated in the initial phase. But now Iranians are saying that as of now we are not keen to do that. If the implementation comes and we agree on the terms in the second phase, Iran is ready to discuss its nuclear files.
