Hey everybody, it's Deja from Knit and Crochet Ever After,
and today I'm trying out some light-up gloves
to see if these will work for knit and crochet.
So what are light-up gloves? I saw them on Instagram
and they're like these of mediaprene,
they kind of slide on very easily, they wrap around,
use left or right handed, see the buttons are kind of upside down,
but you push this little button on top
And the fingers light up.
So when I saw these, they're using it for, you know, tools and
handiwork. But when I saw it, I was like,
I wonder if I knit and crochet with these in low light,
if it's going to help me see my stitches better.
So I was like, let me try them,
you never know. So I want to try these out,
knitting and crocheting, you know, low light.
So I wanted to give you
a close-up view
of the gloves before I
shut off my lights to
see how well the lights were pointing at my stitches.
So you can see this little
This is the pod that holds the batteries with the Phillips head screw
with our on and off button and the actual velcro
so the soft part is on your skin and the left part is the latch.
I don't know what you would call that.
I wanted to show you that felt on the inside as well.
So the fingers are just kind of the neoprene.
The felt goes up in there.
all the way to the end of the finger on the inside
and it goes right to the edge
here so it's a soft felt the neoprene is soft too
but I think that's just for
extra comfort and it's very comfortable
these are very comfortable to wear I
don't feel
I don't feel constricted. I don't feel like they're very stretchy.
I have lots of room. I have smaller fingers, but this does,
you can see it stretches quite a bit and I don't think it
would really cut into your fingers if you have larger fingers.
So let me go shut off the lights and let's see how these guys work.
Okay, so I've got a little project with some dark maroon yarn
that I'm gonna- and it's not a project, it's a swatch.
Watch.
I'm gonna see how well these guys work.
I have one light on in my room right now, and it's nighttime,
so it's very, it's very dark in this room.
I have blackout curtains and everything.
So once this light is off, it's pitch black.
So we're gonna see how well these work.
So, turn these on.
Here,
see how
they work.
Like I can totally see the entire stitch,
the entire spot that I'm working in, like these are
totally working for knitting crochet.
It looks like the thumbs are really what's illuminating it
and hopefully it's showing up as well as it is here on camera,
but I can see like every single stitch.
It's not difficult to see where I'm working into at all.
Um, it looks like the pointer fingers are not really assisting the,
the project portion,
but they're illuminating out in front of me.
So, and I think what I could do actually is like have
the pattern here or anywhere near me
and I can use my pointer fingers to read the pattern and
then come right back over and continue on with the thumbs,
you know, lighting my way. So,
These are really awesome!
I am so glad that I had the idea to try these for knitting and crochet,
because they are totally working.
