Americas New Hypersonic Bird That May Have Just Taken Flight! SR-72 Darkstar!

James Kaufman, World News Report Today. America's new bird that just took flight. Well, it's finally operational and has taken its first few flights. America's new SR-72 Darkstar. It's an unmanned hypersonic aircraft in development by Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, intended as the successor to the SR-71 Blackbird. It's designed to reach speeds greater than Mach 6, well over 4,000 miles an hour, using a revolutionary turbine-based combined-cylinder TBCC engine, which transitions from a jet turbine to a scramjet engine. This is twice as fast as its predecessor, the SR-71 Blackbird, the SR-72 Dark Star. It's said to have its maiden flights just earlier last week. There is video floating around that claims to be video of that test flight. With that said, I can't find an official release yet.
