And here we go with another one where the names sound made up,
Mr. Brown and Mr. Smith.
But Mr. Smith is a badass who's 13-0,
4-0 in the UFC, rolling through everybody,
won his fight in a contender series, taking on veteran Randy Brown.
And.
You know, Smith isn't a kid, Tom.
He is 30 years old, right?
So he's not a kid, but he's, you know,
he's hitting his prime right now.
Minus 280 favorite.
What do you make of the co-main event?
Yeah, really interesting co-main because,
you know, if you look at the names that the
Smith has fought to this point in the UFC,
it's not the who's who, you know, Bruce Whitehead,
Josiah Harrell, you know, guys that, you know,
have not really had a run here in the UFC.
But when you look at the skill set, I mean,
the powers there, the wrestling's there,
he looks like the real deal.
So you kind of have to tread lightly.
And here we are now with Randy Brown,
who to me is like a Neil Magny type.
He's a taller guy for the division, long,
you know, been around a very long time,
fought a lot of really good fighters,
comes through in spots where you don't expect him to come through.
So, you know, and then we'll lose when you bet on him
and you think he's going to come through.
Yeah, they get a big, they get a big win and then you're like,
okay, he's, he's figuring it out.
And then they come out and they, they lay an egg.
So it's one of those things,
but you know, Randy Brown, certainly the best guy that,
that Jacoby Smith has fought.
Um, when you look at the games though, you know,
Randy Brown does have some power. Randy Brown
definitely has cardio.
Uh, so, you know, with Smith, the guy who finishes guys early,
you worry a little bit if,
if he doesn't get them out of there early, um, does he fade?
But to me, I mean, I feel like he's the real deal.
I feel like he does have cardio to go.
We have seen him in three round fights before,
you know, on the regional scene. So
yeah, I really liked Jacoby Smith here. One thing I do like a lot.
is the over one and a half takedowns.
The over one and a half takedowns for him
is plus 130. And if Randy Brown is going to be tough
and is going to be the Randy Brown that
we kind of know, you figure he's going to be in this fight for a while.
You know, we've seen him
pushed against the cage against guys who are not good grapplers.
So to me, Smith is going to be
able to get those takedowns.
You know, even if it comes tough, even if it takes two to three rounds
To land a couple takedowns, I feel like.
He's going to land those takedowns.
I do feel like he's explosive, and he could hurt Randy Brown.
We've seen Randy Brown knocked out a few times.
So I do like Smith here.
The money line is a little bit wide for my liking,
but the over one-and-a-half takedowns at plus 130, to me,
kind of feels like the safest bet in this fight.
The total is one-and-a-half in this fight,
and Brown doesn't want this to be a one-and-a-half round fight.
He's going to want to try to, yeah.
I'm frustrated, and, you know, I think Brown's probably thinking, too,
that, yeah, it's going to break this guy's will
when he sees it doesn't,
he can't hurt me.
Now, I'm not saying that's going to happen, that it won't work,
but I do think Brown wants to try to get this fight a little bit
into deeper waters, yet you look at Smith's record,
so you got, you know, these gaudy stoppages,
so the total's one and a half, but I do lean over one and a half here.
Like, I'd be surprised if he just smoked Brown
and Brown got knocked out in 50 seconds, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I, I kind of feel like there were over one
and a half, uh, a solid play as well.
Um, you know, just because Randy Brown is who he is.
I mean, he is tough. We've seen him finished
early in fights. Uh, but you know, we don't know,
is Jacoby Smith just crushing cans or is he really
as good as we think he is? I think it's kind of a combination.
I think he really is as good as we
But at the same time,
You know, we've seen him get into the second
round against guys that were pretty chinny
and you know, Randy Brown is not chinny.
I mean, he can be cracked, he can be hurt,
but I think he does have the game. He does have the length and the size
to really kind of extend this one.
So it would make sense if this one went over.
