Even though there is rain coming,
people are showing up at a car wash tonight.
That's because there's a party
in Mar Vista where zombies are washing cars for free.
Fox 11's Christy Fajardo is there with more.
Did you get a car wash?
I did get a car wash, and you know what, Glenn?
I can tell you that the corner of Venice
and Sentinella here in Mar Vista has been overrun with zombies
who, as it turns out,
are very helpful because they are giving away free car washes.
Zombie alert in Mar Vista tonight.
Keep your windows up and doors closed.
Mysterious meteor shower has turned Rhody High School class
of 1971 into the undead, but these zombies aren't after brains
They're giving away free car washes. It was such
a great thing to do with the kids the night before Halloween
Such a great idea. I think the guys from Rhody are doing
a great job with stuff. So it's great. I love it
It's G-rated and alcohol-free
It's all part of a promotion for Rhody Brew whose office
is just a few doors down from the village carwash
Child.
Teenager, 1971, at the Rhody High School,
we had a meteor shower just on our homecoming night.
Unfortunately, we didn't live beyond that point,
but we came back together years later
to revive our dream of a beer that didn't have any alcohol,
zero alcohol, and zero calories.
It's a night that unites the homecoming queen,
the jocks, and the nerds.
Where'd you go?
Apparently, since they aren't alive,
labor laws don't apply, so it's free.
They work for brains, basically, so it's perfect for us.
And next thing you know, they'll have zombie reporters.
And if you want a free car wash,
they will be here until 10 o'clock tonight.
Again, we're at the corner of Mar Vista, I'm rather sorry,
Centinela and Venice Boulevard, live in Mar Vista,
or maybe I should say not quite live in Mar Vista.
Christy Fajardo, Fox 11 News.
Every time we see you, you look more like a zombie.
Just saying.
What are you saying?
Thanks, Christy.
I don't know what you mean.
This is how I normally wear my makeup.
Makeup.
I hope not all right.
Get your costumes ready.
The West Hollywood Halloween
Carnival returns tomorrow night.
Despite the chance of rain,
Santa Monica Blvd will transform
into a massive street party from
6 to 11 PM between Doheny and La
Cienega. Tens of thousands will
enjoy wild costumes, a live DJ,
and food trucks. It's free,
but leave the kids and the
pets and the backpacks at home.
Clear plastic bags are allowed.
No public drinking.
Take the free WeHo Halloween Ride Shuttle to join the fun.
And if you're driving to that area,
street closures begin tonight at midnight on San Vicente Boulevard.
By 7 a.m. Saturday morning,
expect more road closures on Robertson and surrounding streets.
The big one hits between 10 a.m. and noon
when Santa Monica and La Cienega fully shut down the cars.
Most roads will finally reopen by 6 a.m. on Sunday morning.
