Hey everyone, it's Deja with Knit and Crochet Ever After and today
I'm opening mystery yarn boxes from Etsy.
I purchased three different mystery yarn
box bags, whatever you want to call them, from different Etsy sellers.
They're all on the same price point
and I'm going to unbox them all now and see if what
I spent was worth it.
Stay tuned at the end of the video for a special announcement,
but let's get unboxing now.
So the criteria for me picking the boxes that I picked,
because there's a ton on Etsy.
It had to include notions because I don't want just yarn.
I like notions too.
So I picked all the ones with notions.
And I did look at reviews just to see pictures of previous boxes,
because some of these on
Etsy are definitely like.
bargain bin big box store clearance yarn
and I didn't want to wind up with those so I picked
ones that definitely looked like they had some
maybe some actual yarn shop yarn some prettier
yarn but also I kind of stayed mid-range
because it ranged you could get mystery boxes for ten
dollars all the way up to a hundred dollars I kind
of stayed near the middle kind of 25 to 45 dollars
So I'm going to open them in the order that I received them.
I ordered them all on the same day
that I received them at different times.
This one was from Sheepy Tees, and it was $35.99.
And you'll see that it says Yarn Shop Mystery Box.
If anybody has any questions or comments on this,
So this actually comes from a yarn shop, so that's promising.
please feel free to put them down in the chat box.
So $35.99. Let's see how it is.
One other thing, this one was free shipping,
so $35.99 straight out the door.
I'm going to turn it over to you, Laura.
The packaging is adorable.
There's, like, thank you cards.
There's a bunch of other little cards that came with it.
And then it's got the little nice wrapping paper.
I'm going to go ahead and close the paper.
The listing says that it comes with two to three.
skeins of yarn, stickers, notions,
stitch markers, like various things but it said
each box contains two, two, three skeins, hanks, whatever.
I don't know if I got,
I forgot.
somebody forgot to add the rest because I only got one
and it was Plymouth Yarn Encore.
Um...
This retails, like, in a yarn store or online,
like, $6 for this skein.
I mean, it's...
It's, like, acrylic, 25% wool.
It's got some wool.
Thank
Well, the color's cute, but I don't know.
Let's see what else we got and hope it adds up to $35.
$25.
The next thing, not really my cup of tea.
you
Some tea. I don't drink tea. This is a cute little
so
heart-shaped tea dipper. I don't know what
these are called because I don't drink tea.
much.
And then we got some Plum Deluxe Tea Pumpkin Spice Black Tea.
Pairs well with the sweater,
I'm wearing a blanket.
I could maybe try it.
Like I don't mind pumpkins, but I like pumpkin porters.
So maybe I'll give that a try. We'll see.
We also got some stitch markers from Monster Stitches.
It's kind of like a very fall theme.
It's got like a little leaf. There's two. There's a
locking and then a regular.
So a little leaf and then a little bead. They're cute little
Little something, guys.
We also received a gift card, or not a gift card, but like a
A thank you card.
A blank note card for you to fill out and send to someone.
So that. And then
the last thing, which I love,
I don't know how well it's going to hold up, but I think it's
adorable. It could have been placed a little better,
but it's a little alpaca blowing a bubble,
but it's just a sticker on a piece of tin,
and it doesn't seem like a very high quality sticker.
It doesn't say who it's from, but it'll be good
to hold stitch markers till it falls apart.
I can put a new sticker on it I guess. But that's it.
$35.99. I don't think I would be buying from
these guys again. I'm hoping for better luck on the next one.
So let's go check that one out.
Next one was one day after the last one.
They both came in like two to three days.
This is from Yarn and Blankets
and it is labeled as the Lion Brand Mystery Bag and it
There's like different bags on there that you get
to pick from so I didn't even pick but I'm glad I
got this one because I forgot to pick
but I was like oh I hope I get the gingham one so I lucked
out and I did get the gingham one.
It was $24.99 with about $10 shipping and tax so it was like $37
but tax might be cheaper where you live
so it seems it's really heavy it's very big you can
see it's very more substantial than that last one
so let's see what's inside.
So the thing that why it's called the Lion Brand Mystery Bag
is because it says that it gives you
like, you know, six skeins of Lion Brand stuff,
notions, different things. And I love Lion Brand
yarn. So like for sure, price wasn't bad.
So the first, the first of many yarns, listen up,
last one was this three pack of Vanna's Choice.
Just the basic, you know, worsted weight. This
This one is color...
I have to turn it. What's the color?
You know, it's like a creamy asparagus. Asparagus green.
They said that's asparagus green.
Maybe it's like a like not ripe asparagus or like those
white tipped asparagus. Like I can kind of see a green hue to it,
but I don't know. Maybe she gets
Maybe she gets, um, I'm gonna have to look this up
to see if that actually is supposed to be green,
um, because maybe, like, the discount
is that she can get them real cheap because they're labeled
wrong. I don't know.
I like the color either way, so that's a, that's a win. The next one,
and what I like, is I'm getting a couple of each thing.
This, I have never seen
this one before, but it looks a lot like the Bernat.
What's it called? Bernat Velvet, I think.
I made my octopus basket out of that and it's a very
similar kind of velvety texture. It's called Nap Time.
Very cute. 306 yards for each one of these
and it's worsted. This is Navy, Blue Marine.
So very pretty. I love this. I'm going to keep this
one because I want to try that. And there's more yarn.
Last but not least, three skeins.
Ooh, it's sparkly, shimmer, shimmery, called shimmery.
So Lion Brand Shimmery in Milky Way.
I get it, I see it.
So it looks like it'd be kind of a self-striping
with really nice color changes.
Cause you can kind of see like it gradually changes
to the next color.
This could be super pretty.
Oh, I'm excited.
um this one's redeeming my my hope
and free stuff and there's still more in here so
oh let's see what else we get okay i don't know what
this is but it was in there like a dish towel
a little pumpkiny halloweeny dish towel very cute
these are always handy it's got a little
hanging tag and there's more
but i like that sounds like we got some stuff so a little
plain motion bag do whatever you want with that then
We got a, we have a measuring tape, we have,
ooh, y'all know I'm blind, let me get my light
out here, Meiji Pure Hand Cream in Lemon.
I can smell it already, smells good.
So a hand cream, I need
that because it's getting really cold right now and it's getting
very dry.
A cable needle, very handy,
I'm running out of hands for all the stuff that's in here.
I don't know what this is, but it's cool.
Um.
Tips. Look how small that is. Like, I'm gonna be able to read that.
Burn candle. Okay, that's a candle.
Let's not blind everybody.
Oh my goodness. I'm trying.
See, that smells. I can't get it open.
I'm gonna work on that later. But there's a candle in here
to burn. Still more. Crunchy.
Little nice, little velvety, autumn-looking scrunchie.
I love putting scrunchies on my hand. And here.
Oh, we got a full chapstick. Toast to love.
Vanilla kiss. Yummy. Some stitch markers.
Some, these are awesome. If you don't, have never tried
these, these are great for when you're seaming projects
and you have to put them together
because they're like really tight.
They hold everything in place. So I got four or five of those.
I got
A big old yarn needle. These are so handy
and I only have one this size so I'm glad I have a backup.
And then five locking stitch markers.
So this whole thing is awesome for knit or crochet.
The only thing that the crocheter may not use
is this cable needle. Everything else
knit or crocheters can use, I'm in love.
This one was totally totally worth the money.
Good Job Yarn and Blankets. Let's check out
the last one. I'm getting like total like my 80s
childhood coming back with these scrunchies. Um last
but not least definitely in price
was this little guy from Three Fathom Fiber Arts. So you kind
of made some choices so
based on what you chose
and it was like luxury yarns basic yarn stuff it ranged from
like 30 probably with tax it was like 27 something
to over 100 with tax probably it's like 93 I'm
saying with with so mine was technically like 45 dollars
and change there was like a 10% off coupon
though which of course I used
and then with tax it kind of rounded out to like 45 Arizona tax okay
But this seller actually messaged me and she,
and this was coming from kind of far away.
So it took a little bit longer to get to me,
but the seller messaged me and asked kind of favorite
colors, you know, what, what I like,
so that she could kind of craft me something special.
So I'm really excited to see what's in here.
So when I was making my choice, it was like,
This many yarns and then a free gift
and your free gift could be notions
or another yarn, you know, whatever it may be.
I told her I liked lighter colors.
I wanted brighter.
So I said purples, blues and greens.
And this is what she sent me.
So the first one, I'll start with kind of
the least impressive, you know,
but it gets better from here.
So I'll give that away.
So this is Knit CA.
So I think that I want to say this came from Canada.
Let me check real quick.
Yeah.
So this came from Canada. That's why it took longer to get to me.
So I'm guessing knit CA means knit Canada.
Knit Canada is light. It's 100% superwash merino,
lightweight. This fine Australian merino wool is pure delight.
And so this has 164 yards,
so nice little, little purple cutie.
So then the next two I love. These are awesome. So
Look at this one. So this one kind of,
it's got the purple, the blue, and the green. This is
Handmaiden Fine Yarn Lady Godiva, 50% silk,
50% wool, and this has 273 yards.
It's saying a four
millimeter needle, so it seems kind of like DK.
I'm gonna say it doesn't quite seem as like as
Thick as worsted and it feels pretty fine.
So I'm going to say about a DK but the colors are
so pretty so I can't wait to see how that plays out.
Last one, well it's not the last one,
this is like the last of the three that it came with.
This one, yeah pretty that one is too.
Mineville wool project.
I kind of love getting this from Canada because like when do we get the
chance to get Canadian yarn?
100% fine merino lace, 700 meters. So for us U.S. folks, a little
over 700 yards. So this is in juniper.
So pretty. This totally reminds me of Malabrigo.
So if you love Malabrigo,
you're gonna love Minneville Wool Project.
So, okay, last one, it's a freebie.
So I wasn't sure if I was gonna get an ocean or more yarn.
I got more yarn and I got some cool yarn.
Isn't that pretty too?
It looks like a little ice cream cone.
This one says, thank you.
I hope you enjoy this hand dyed mystery yarn.
So I'm gonna bust it out of its package here.
It feels like cotton. It feels very cottony,
definitely like a worsted, but it's very
cute colors. They've, like,
all of these colors just go together so well. I'm really
impressed with the yarn that was sent with this one. So that
...is all three. I loved the last two.
I could have done without the first one.
I don't, I would not buy that one again.
I would definitely buy the last two again.
Just the sheer amount of yarn and the beautiful yarn from Canada.
I love it.
Um
I, my secret that I was going, you know,
my announcement, I'm like, what the hell is this?
What did I call it?
My announcement, I'm going to be giving away a lot of this stuff.
It's, you know, Christmas is coming up,
so I'm going to give away a bunch of this.
So go to the description and click on my Instagram and follow me
because that's where I'm going to be giving it away.
Okay.
That's it! I hope you like these. Go check them out.
Go check out the sellers if you did.
I'm Deja with Knit and Crochet Ever After and thank you for watching!
