⚠️ LICENSE QUICK NOTES (from each site's own terms when I made this video)
- Mixkit: the Sound Effects Free License allows YouTube use. You can't re-upload a sound on its own or register it with a rights management service.
- Pixabay: free to use and edit, no credit needed. You can't sell or share a sound by itself.
- Freesound: you need an account to download. Each sound has its own license: CC0 needs no credit, CC BY needs credit, and CC BY-NC doesn't allow earning money from your video.
- Sonniss: royalty free and commercially usable, no credit needed. You can't repackage the sounds as your own sound pack.
- SoundBible: each sound has a badge (Public Domain or Attribution). Attribution sounds need credit.
- Orange Free Sounds: the site says its sounds are free for commercial and non-commercial use with no sign-up. Confirm the details on each sound's page.
- FreeSFX: credit freesfx.co.uk when you use its sounds. A sound can't be used on its own, it has to be mixed with other audio or video.
- BBC: personal, research and formal education use only. Not for monetized channels.
License terms can change and apply to each individual sound, so always read the license on the sound's page before you download. This is general information, not legal advice. I'm not affiliated with any of these sites.
📌 PRO TIPS FROM THE VIDEO
1. Place a whoosh slightly before the cut
2. Keep effects quieter than your voice
3. Use fewer sounds, and make each one count
4. Keep a note of every sound you use, with its link, license and any credit
