So today I'm going to be trying out
this yarn holder that I bought off of Teemo.
If you haven't seen my haul video you should go check that out
because I bought a ton of yarn and
crochet things that I, you know,
thought they were interesting or similar to something that
I have and then I'm going to try them out
So be sure to hit the like, subscribe,
and see if those good deals
and notification bell because you don't want to
miss these deep dives so that you're
not spending money on something that might be just
are really worth it.
So this yarn holder I got for super cheap.
If you have been anywhere on the internet,
you might have seen something similar for
a lot more.
Me personally,
I really like the designs of those really expensive ones, but I cannot
I can't fathom spending that much money
for something that I may not even like.
So this is a good primer if you really love
the look of those to maybe try one of these
first to see if you even like the concept.
So originally I gave this a 4.5 for the price,
for the design, for the quality of it.
It seems very sturdy and that it will hold up.
But I wasn't sure how functional it was going to be.
So we're supposed to put a cake on this little spindle
and then be able to work our project on the go.
So I'm going to go get a cake of yarn
and put it on and we'll give it a go.
Okay, I've kind of zoomed in onto the actual yarn holder.
I'm going to hold her.
Item itself, the way that you have to put it
on is take off the little carabiner clip.
Let's see what's the easiest way this is going
to work to be able to get the yarn.
And this comes apart too, so it is very portable.
It's understandable, but...
We're going to put our yarn,
I'm guessing we got to get pretty good at the center of this
so we don't end up having tangles down the line.
I guess we can always pull it off and
recenter it if we need to. But then we put our clip back on.
Which way does it open? Here we go.
Ah, getting stuck. All right.
Okay, it is on there.
This is one of my Temu yarns that I got, the acrylic,
so I'll be doing a little bit more of a deep dive in that as well.
But I don't see you being able to use this from the center at all,
especially if you're not set up,
if you didn't put it directly right in the middle.
So we're going to use the outside
because I believe that's what we're supposed to be doing.
So let me grab a hook and let's try this out.
Okay, so I've been using this for a few minutes, I've got it,
you know, I'm just doing some regular double crochet.
I have it set and you'll see that it kind of like winds up on the
around the post and the the clip here
but it doesn't kind of get stuck like I it it'll keep
on coming and then every once in a while I can just give it
a little twirl and it comes undone
and then I can keep going
and in realistically you know if this was just sitting in my lap
I would be pulling some slack on it
and you can see that it spins very easily
Absolutely.
I can probably come down here
a little bit more all of my the part of it is up
kind of near the top
but you can see that it spins really easy so I can get
slack on it pretty quickly the thing
is you do need it kind of to be
free hanging. So this I could see being helpful like
if you're standing somewhere.
So if you have a commute, maybe you're standing on the bus
or the train, you know, this is a good one.
You might be able to like kind of like hang it between
your legs if you're sitting. But if you're just you know,
in bed or something working, I wouldn't have this
I wouldn't have the yarn on this,
I would just be using the yarn normally, so it is
definitely more of a travel item,
more when you're actually standing, you know, if you're
watching a game maybe, the kids game,
wanting to work at the same time, you can have this
and cheer them on as well as sit there
and crochet at the same time or knit at the same
time, but it does work quite well.
It spins, that spinning, I think the whole key is the spinning.
lanyard here that's going to keep it untangled
so definitely has to be on the outside though.
Let's go do some final thoughts. So overall I was
I'm really happy with this. I love the designs.
They have more. You can use the link in my description
to see all of the different designs that they have.
You can also get 30% off when you use that link.
So it's even cheaper than what I got it for.
But originally I had given this a 4.5.
I'm upping that to a 5. Like it works well.
does what it's supposed to do it is very specific you know you need
to be standing but it works well
i don't have a problem with it getting tangled it spins very easily
so that i can untangle the yarn
as it's kind of twisting around that's you know
a minor it's not a big deal it didn't
actually hinder me crocheting so i really like
this a lot and it makes me think about getting
those more expensive ones if I want them simply
because of the designs because
these are really cute like you can kind of
have these you could hang a bunch
in your craft room they're cute little addition as well so
Tell me what you think. Have you tried one of these?
What what do you think about these kind
of travel yarn holders? Let me know in the comments.
I'd love to hear what you think of them.
