Yeah, it is. That rains make it to the ground.
Come down pretty good. They're looking towards the West Valley.
That's where the rain is falling is the far West Valley,
but it's moving into the valley.
So as the morning progresses and right through the afternoon,
we have chances for rain and thunderstorms around the state.
Take a look on Fox Vision right now. This is looking good.
It's looking like we're about to get a good soaker out
of this as these storms start to progress.
There's a closer look at the valley. So there's a small wave here.
Pinal County into now parts of South Phoenix, Ahwatukee,
but then the main body of thunderstorms is moving in.
The west edge of the valley.
A little closer look shows us Buckeye
already been getting it for a while now.
Waves of thunderstorms, some lightning as well.
As this is moving up, it's just starting to hit the 303.
And in that, like...
Avondale Perryville areas where we're looking at some
of the pockets of heavier rain then running up
and along the 303 all the way to the 60 where it extends to Wickenburg.
Those thunderstorms passing through but this is eventually going
to skip the 74. It'll be near Lake Pleasant and as this continues
to shift eastward we'll start to see like Black Canyon City more
of Glendale getting some of these storms as well.
There's where there's just a few
of the lighter showers moving over South Mountain.
In fact I just peeked at our South Mountain camera and you can see
the rain that is coming down right now as a result of that little
Moving on over and then a few showers over the downtown area,
too, but very light, a little steadier rain in like the area
of Interstate 10, just south of Sun Lakes and moving up towards,
like I mentioned, the Ahwatukee area with those showers.
Here's the look up in the high country.
This rain has started to break up some, so still some scattered
showers along the Mogollon Rim and extending up to Flagstaff,
but no longer as active as they were even like an hour or two ago.
Our future cast. Look at this.
It's doing a nice job. The cluster to the northeast,
the cluster coming in from the west.
So that's the area of storms that's likely to strengthen
as the morning progresses.
This model shows by 11 a.m. a good hit of rain and thunderstorms for
the valley, but also extending northward,
starting to fill out towards Flagstaff and
then continuing to pass the valley into the early
to mid-afternoon hours before we start to drag it
out of the Phoenix metro tonight.
So tonight we start to dry in the valley. Eastern Arizona will
We'll still see some wet weather throughout
the night, but then that will start to
Start to clear by Saturday morning for Halloween.
This is your Halloween Outlook.
Morning, afternoon, we
are looking just really spot-like isolated showers.
Light as well.
As we go through the early trick-or-treating hours, 5 to 8 p.m.
Still mostly just spotty activity, but we're starting
to see moisture creep up from the southwest corner of the state.
And past 8 o'clock at night,
we're going to quickly see that rain swipe from through
the valley all the way up to the northeast part of the state,
becoming more widespread, and eventually by Sunday,
it's pretty much a washout, it looks like.
Here's the future cast to show you this.
This is 5 p.m. Saturday. Look at that.
Nice and clear. Some clouds likely,
but otherwise just a few stray shower chances are out there.
Fairly dry. Then we go through 8, 9 o'clock at night.
See how quickly the rain starts to push through thanks to the larger
trough and then that disturbance running up and along the jet.
So as the jet pushes all that southerly moisture our way, this turns
to a heavy rain by Sunday morning and continues as a heavy rain right
on through Sunday afternoon as well. Because of this,
the river flooding forecast from the National Weather Service is
This is already a little concerning.
This is for today's rain combined with Sunday's rain.
And both Wet River Creek at Rimrock and Montcopee Wash near Tuba City
are expected to reach moderate flood level over the next several days.
Here's a look at your forecast highs.
75 in Phoenix, 52 for Flagstaff, and 64 in Winslow.
And on the 10-day forecast,
that temperature is sitting in those middle 70s today.
78, the forecast high for you on Saturday.
That's the afternoon for Halloween.
And then as we head into the night, it's like,
It may get a little chilly actually,
like say upper sixties,
depending on how late you're out on trick or treating.
We dropped to 72 for a high Sunday before we will dry out.
And guys, look at next week.
It's still in the seventies.
