Why are Detroit gas stations selling discounted fuel in Trump's name?

I'm at a gas station in Detroit where fuel
is cheaper than at many other pumps.
It's part of Freedom Fuel Network, which operates more than 30 stations
across Pennsylvania and New Jersey and two here in Detroit.
President Trump has publicly
The privately operated stations say they're
promoted the network, but the
cutting profit margins to keep prices low.
How they can afford to do that remains unclear.
White House denies funding it.
At one point, it was selling gas for $3.47 a gallon.
That's around $0.92 a liter.
The $0.47 is a reference to America's 47th president,
but since the war on Iran began,
gas prices have jumped more than 40% across the US
from around $3 to around $4.30 a gallon. So I'm here to find out what
Voters make of the president's handling of the economy
and if it will influence who they vote for on November 3rd.
It's just not fair to everybody else.
People gotta get where they gotta go.
And, you know, some people can't afford it.
I mean, he's supposed to change it, right?
Supposed to be cheaper, right?
Supposed to be what Trump got us for, right?
He's not helping right now.
It makes us feel like under the influence
that he's trying to get us to vote for him
by lowering the gas price.
So this isn't working on you.
You're not gonna be voting for him because this?
When you want to start wars all over the place
and think you're gonna win and take over everybody,
it doesn't work like that.
When you're a billionaire
and you have everything that you got, you don't drive.
He doesn't drive.
He doesn't work a job like everybody else does.
Like me, like regular people.
So he could care less what we go through.
When you got people that are going to a Dollar General
and getting three bags.
There's something unusual about
a gas station promoting cheaper
fuel in the name of a president
whose war on Iran has helped drive prices up.
But with the midterms just days away,
what matters isn't just how much Americans are
paying at the pump.
It's who they hold responsible.
