Today, we're harvesting olives in a field
that had not been harvested since October 7th.
Let's call it a settlement.
Settlement, security, home, military, and the police.
I'm used to it.
The main story I come home with is not the story of my detention
or the revocation of my travel authorization.
The main story I come home with is the ethnic cleansing
of Palestinians in the West Bank,
which I just saw with my own eyes.
Some people think of that as like a handful of hilltop youth,
of violent settlers.
But it's much more coordinated than that.
In every place I saw how government policy
and how the actions of the Israeli military
are aligned with the violence of the settlers
to push Palestinians off their land
and prevent them harvesting their olive groves
to demolish their homes.
I would
like
to be able
to go back
and continue to work with the people
that I met last week and others
toward a resolution that will involve
You know, international law and Palestinian human rights
and then a path to peace that's
grounded in dignity and freedom
and self-determination for both peoples.
My travel authorization doesn't matter to those things,
but it is one more sign of a
government using every tool to deny Palestinians
the possibility of living lives of dignity.
