What to know before President Trump's Daytona Beach rally

President of the United States is making a campaign stop right here in Central Florida. Donald Trump is coming to Daytona Beach tomorrow, and that entire city is bracing for gridlock. Thanks for joining us on this Thursday evening. I'm Luanne Sorrell. I'm Jack Royer. There will be hundreds of police officers, major road closures, and thousands of people in Daytona Beach tomorrow. Bailey Bockover joins us live there now with what you need to know before the president gets here. Bailey? Hey Jack, President Trump has been campaigning around the country to drum up support for candidates and tomorrow he's coming here to the Ocean Center. In less than 12 hours, this whole corridor will look very different. Starting at 7 tomorrow morning, expect brake lights across Daytona Beach. Road closures start early. Earl Street is closed to vehicles at 8, Peninsula Drive by 4, and Atlantic Avenue shuts down completely by 5. Come 1 o'clock or 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, you are probably not going to get anywhere near the Ocean Center. For folks living nearby, it's a mixed bag of massive disruption and major excitement. Chaos. Yes. I hate to be the one to say it, but yes, chaos. Because it's going to be all busy. I think it's going to be awesome. She says no amount of gridlock will keep her from trying to see the motorcade and possibly getting a glimpse of the President of the United States. We'll probably be trying to get around, To the closest we can, because I'd love to see a glimpse of, you know, him coming around. Getting close is one thing. Getting inside the arena is an entirely different story. The U.S. Secret Service and Daytona Beach Police will be out making sure everyone stays safe. And the sheriff has one critical warning for Florida gun owners. Don't bring your gun. Seriously, we're in Florida. Everybody thinks that it's open carry and do whatever. You're not going to be admitted into the Ocean Center if you have a gun. Hundreds of law enforcement personnel will blanket the venue perimeter and every major cross street until late tomorrow night. You have the president of the United States coming to a venue and there's going to be well over 500 law enforcement personnel there, probably even more. Now doors open tomorrow afternoon at 3 30 a.m. but you can park as early as 6 a.m. in the blue lot. Of course we'll have all this info for you on our Fox local app. Live in Daytona Beach, Bailey Bockover, Fox 35 News.
