Former Vice President Kamala Harris is in Atlanta tonight trying
to help turn out Democratic voters.
Earlier, she held a rally with Democratic Senator John Ossoff
on the campus of Clark Atlanta University.
Fox 5's Rob Durienzo was there.
Here at Clark Atlanta University, former Vice President Kamala Harris
and Senator John Ossoff rallied these students
before sending them out the door to canvas
with just days to go until the midterm election.
The former vice president's message to students,
turn their anger into action.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris got an AUC welcome Thursday night,
there to get college kids out to the polls.
Democratic Senator John Ossoff says
his data is showing they're already there.
By far, we have already shattered every turnout record
for young voters in a midterm election in Georgia's history.
Both Senator Ossoff and former Vice President Harris told student
volunteers this election is about reigning in President Donald Trump.
We need John Ossoff back in the United States Senate to hold this.
Administration accountable to the people.
Ossoff's opponent Republican Congressman Mike Collins
slammed Harris's visit at a campaign stop in Carrollton.
That's all you have to say. He brought Kamala Harris in.
You know, Kamala Harris was a failed candidate.
She was a failed vice president.
Never a border czar who never went to the border.
So they can campaign all they want together.
The people of the state are seeing that as well.
And that's just energizing us as well.
Neither the former VP nor Senator Ossoff
mentioned Collins by name a single time,
instead aiming their ire at President Trump.
We have in the administration in Washington, D.C.,
a level of brutality like we have never seen.
The two Democrats slammed the Trump administration's cuts to Medicaid,
along with the war in Iran and the tariffs.
And while you pay more for everything,
the president and his family are lining their
pockets to platoon of billions of dollars.
Later in the evening, VP Harris also spoke
at this town hall at Elizabeth Baptist Church,
hosted by the NAACP, calling for other changes.
There's some structural work that needs to be done.
Including?
We need to expand the Supreme Court.
On their way out to canvas, the students we spoke with say with less
than five days until election day, they understand the assignment.
The message was really about making sure young voters
and everybody else gets out to vote.
We got five days, we're about to do it.
And Vice President Harris will be sticking around here
in Metro Atlanta for the last day of early voting.
She's going to be addressing the Fulton County
Democrats at their dinner on Friday night.
At Clark Atlanta University's campus, Rob DiRienzo, Fox 5 News.
