Diagnosing the draft motor, and rusted heat exchanger. Revisiting ductwork.
Repair is here
https://youtu.be/n4_RA7WI_U8
on this one we gave them
an estimate five years ago
to replace
this package unit it may have
been replaced let's see
right now we got a call for
heat let's see what's going on
we got a call
for heat
and nothing
but the fan
is on looks
like six
flashes
flashes
pressure
switch
fault
it's
hard
to
see
it's
up
in
there
13
so
i've
decided
to
end
the
Replacing the draft motor and the flue box cover is almost $1,000.
So I'm going to check this heat exchanger
real good before we do any kind of repair.
I
can't
see
it,
but
I
can
feel
it
right
here.
This was not changed out five years ago.
We actually gave them an estimate on a new duct system.
So it wasn't for a change out.
But that's what they're looking at right now.
Because I cannot turn that on.
I've already turned
this off.
This off.
Disconnect my sparker.
Come here
and disconnect my white wire.
That way there's no way this thing can run
because this is turning into a change out.
I'm gonna take
a look under here.
That duct work
was never changed.
I can see it's intact.
I ain't
crawling out.
There's some over there.
It looks like it's they got
a what I call a spider box
because they used to have a downflow furnace.
They converted to a packaging and my supply
just feeds into that spider box.
I mean it'll work but I think they need a new system.
On the last one I was just at,
the heat exchanger was only seven and a half years old, so I was
surprised to see that we had a hole in it,
but that just goes to show you gotta check.
I'm glad I did. If I get repair, I'll bring y'all back.
If you like seeing things,
even things that I can't see, how about subscribing and liking?
It helps out. Thanks.
