Just six days until the midterm elections
and both candidates for Michigan's U.S. Senate seat
with a big final push.
Fox 2's Scott Wolchek joins us live now from Wyandotte where
Abdul El-Sayed wrapping up a campaign stop.
Scott. Hey Charlie, yeah you know what he is
wrapping up this right here
but he's actually doing this press conference right now so that
we're bringing this to you live right now.
I'm gonna pop in here just to take a listen to him
so if you got any questions Charlie let me know but take a listen here.
$80. That's crazy. It's nuts that people have to pay this much for gas.
It's nuts that when you go
to the grocery store, you're trying to figure out,
can you even afford a pound of ground chuck?
That is Donald Trump's economy.
That is because of his tariffs, because of his war. He does not
want to talk about those things. You notice, I mean,
how much collective time has he spent speaking
from a rostrum over the last week?
And how often has he actually talked about those issues that
are affecting people's lives? So he wants to point to my name
and my faith, and he wants to distract
people from paying attention to the issues.
Michiganders and Americans are a lot bigger
than he is right he wants us to be small like him we're
a lot bigger than he is okay uh dr
al-sayed you've responded to the weaponization
of your religion with humor with courage and i think
with a way that keeps you
on message talking about affordability but at what point do you
think that you're defending your right to exist
and belong in this country i'm trying to defend
everybody else i'm not here to defend myself right i've
been in my whole life people want to
say whatever they want to say. That doesn't bother me.
I just, it bothers me that people
can't afford their gas. And so that is Abdul talking right now.
And we do know that Mike
Rogers has been out campaigning throughout the state as well.
And so we followed him around for
quite a bit as well. He was over in Bad Axe.
Take a listen to what Mike Rogers had to say a little
earlier? You want to send somebody back that can work
with the president. He's going to be there
two years. We have a lot to do here in Michigan
to get us back up on our feet. Having a relationship
is going to be very important to that end.
If it's good for Michigan, I'm for it. If it's going to be
bad for Michigan, I'll be against it.
And I'm not obviously afraid to push on the president.
And yeah, we're going to hop back into this press conference.
So I'll send it back to you over there,
Charlie. That is Scott Wolchek. He's live in Wyandotte.
I don't know if you can get in there
Scott, if you could ask him maybe,
how would Abdul El-Sayed work with President Trump if
he's elected?
And Mike Rogers makes the point,
he's gonna be there for two years, could he work with
President Trump?
Is your message to Ben in these final days between now
and the election?
That's a great question, Charlie, I'll try to ask it,
but kinda in the middle of a press
conference here.
talking about right now
and uh you know it's frustrating um that folks are using this campaign
we'll take this a little bit here let's uh obviously

election they are out and about both candidates
and not only for the u.s senate but for michigan's
governor and we will follow those all right scott walczak thanks
for that report in wyandotte all

to help boost turnout for election day

And it's happening after a few hours
of training for dozens of volunteers

and their ability to cast a vote.
All right, let's take a look now.
